I opened up the diff to see what ratio it is, I was told to look for markings stamped into the crown wheel and this is what i found but i cant make heads or tails of it

count the teeth on the crown wheel and divide that by the number of teeth on the pinion.

whats the first numbers in the first pic
?? : 12
divide the 12 into the first number
soooo. if its 47 : 12 it's a 3.9 etc
I taut the first number was 17
Yous are confusing the poor lad lads....! lol...! If its all back together then the easiest way to do it is like this....! Mark where the prop gos in and mark on the diff with tip ex....! Do the same where the half shaft gos in....! Then twist the half shaft round 10 times and get someone to count how many times the mark gos round where the prop gos in....!
After you spin it 10 times then get the number the other person counted and devide it by 10....! So if he counted 37 its a 3;7...!

I wz gonna sell it for €50 if it's a 3:7, why wats it worth otherwise??
mark were the prop bolts to the diff turn the shaft 1 full turn and count how many times the output shafts turn to 1 turn of the prop shaft
wot the diff come out off!
