Some great day on the Saturday I thought,Place was fairly electric.
Sunday was flat,No buzz about the place,Dunno was it a result of the night before or the crowd to spread out or what but there was Zero atmosphere today.Hope it comes back for Punch.

Some great driving over the weekend from James,The forward pace and speed the lbd car flicks at is unreal.Charlie Geary and John Hickey were on some form in what I think is fairly standard cars???
Good to see the old dog Mike Deane back,Something serious bread in to that Deane family when it comes to building and driving cars.
Mark Willis is gonna be unreal in time to come in that 86.
And delighted for our own Carparts.ie drivers Pat and Sean on the sat, drove with some serious aggression.

good weekend in fermoy, but should we have a better way of juding not sayin anything about the judges but in this day an age with the tech thats out there maybe an electric score board that each judge puts the score in for each driver and is totaled by all 3 at end of each run this would help prodrift massively as lads behind us were shouting fix to some of the results in battles, this is my 2 pence any way ,onwards an upwards

Firstly use the other thread... Secondly how can you use a computer to judge a twin battle???? Thats just retarded! Crowd vote is the only thing dat needs to go..

Gutted I missed this. If the crowd vote is anything like Ennis, its a joke, I'm sure they trying to get the crowd involved but its just a mess in my opinion.

Is there a full list of the top 16 anywhere?

Think he means more so that each judge puts in his vote without knowing what the other judges are giving so its completely unbiased.

Fine idea but it would make the competition very boring as part of the banter from the judges is half the fun of it.

For example, all the people watching that X-factor/pop-idol or whatever the next shite is called watch it mostly for the grilling judges give and arguing etc rather than actually watching it for the people performing.

Luckily, drifting is also entertaining to watch with talent right across the board with sometimes controversial judging thrown in too so everyones a winner

ta for your explanation but as we saw in fermoy the 3 judges were looking for different lines an different styles ,lets call it car a and car b.car a being the first lead car judge 1 gives car a "93 an car b 97" judge 2 give car a 97 and car b 94 judge 3 gives a and b 95 each so car b wins if each judge explained why they gave there scores and what they were looking for would this still not have the same banter and be as you say unbiased would it not also be edge of seat waitin for the boards to show each result an the m.c could big it up an maybe pressure the drivers to go all out as i said only an idea i think would work,as for pd dan the thread says results and afterthoughts

Well heres my point of view from a person who know a bit about drifting and clipping points but not an expert by anymeans.....

The judges should make it clear exactly what there looking for when it comes to Quafyling , Twin battles, Super lap ect

Im sure its a very hard job but imo the judges on Sunday sounded like they didnt even want to be there...the comentators tho on the other hand were doing an excellent job , telling the crowd all about the drivers and what set up their running ect..

I couldnt believe the atmostphere from the crowd...its was like they didnt want to be their either!!! Maybe its just cuz I know some of the drivers and Im here reading all the time, money and effort put into an event with you guys that could be over in seconds

It definatly makes it far more interesting to me that I know some of the drivers.

When the top 16 were being introduced to the crowd on Sunday , its was very well done by the commentators but the crowd let it down big time (I was shouting away if it makes any difference!!)

the only time the crowd got going was when Mike and James were being judged and also every time Chris Brady ran the tyre wall

Hopefully the crowd will be better at round 3
