great days driftin every1 chris was on the pipe all day !! cnt wait for round 3![]()
Was only down on the sunday and it was fairly quiet spectator wise. Bon Bon is a dreary prick as a judge and there were some questionable calls.
The crowd vote while I did find it pretty hilarious is a shitty system, for the second round in a row James Deane was screwed over. Personally I was delighted to see Mike win and Sinnott in Ennis but I'd rather it happened with judges calls and not the crowd being sick of James winning.
I found it was a great day out for €20 and the online weekend passes are a great deal.
As for the drivers, couldn't fault anyone really but major props to Chucky, some serious driving laaaaad. Chris Brady was on fire, J Deane's super lap was poetry in motion, there's plenty I'm forgetting but it was a savage day over all.
Another good eventful weekend!
Standard of driving was once again high on a technical track and the team drift is just shit hot!
I was supposed to be driving Jules Chambers S14 for the weekend but when the engine started missing at the start of the week and they found det damage there just wasnt time to fix the engine, map it and put in the full weld in cage. Huge thanks to Bart for the phone call Friday where he was almost insisting that I drive his car, cheers dudeId love to have driven but if I did any damage it would eat into the budget for the RX7 so I just couldnt do it.
I arrived at the track Saturday morning at 8 o clock to do a bit of dishco music and was asked to judge the Saturday competition as Julian and Bon Bon had missed the ferry. I got a bit of a hop but just went with it and had a good chat with Kieran first on what to look for and what to score and deduct points for. It turned out to be ok once we settled in, with Darren, Kieran and myself all on the one page score wise in qualifying. Kieran had laid out a technical track once again and the risk and reward style of the first 2 clips made it great to watch all weekend. I know the effort and money everyone puts into their cars and actually getting to an event for the weekend so I understand what an important job it is and it was a privilege to be asked. Not easy though, especially with Darren roaring unspeakable shit into your ear while you tried to give your reasons for a decision ha ha!
Great driving again though, Chuck was going unreal, well done lad! Pat and Sean was a great non seed final and Pat done himself proud Sunday. Larry Love was a crazy man in the battles, himself and Barry's runs were epic. James' entries FTW! What a driver! A bit robbed by the crowd vote maybe but thats peoples natural tendency to go for the underdog and change. Mike Deane and Barry flying it aswell. Sounds like there was a good night in Cork Sat night! Mallow was fairly beery last night aswell! Was flat out yest doing a bit of music and commentary and passenger rides but it was good craic! Roll on Punchestown though so that I can start getting acquainted with my new bitch![]()
Just on that note,Mike,Your judging was on the nose perfect on the Saturday,Couldnt ask for better,You on the mic and on the chew'in's worked perfect!
Park the project to fuck and stay having the banter! We'll miss you when your back in the seat so you better entertain like fuck :P
Another good weekend always have great crack with the crew
Enjoyed judging on the Sat, i might have been a bit harsh but i just want to see people improve
i wouldn mind judging the Pro's on the Sun if im wanted but to be honest im getting pissed off with the watching its time to get back out there and put those Deanes in their place haha![]()
