speedo problem

Rite lads have a 14a and the speedo wont work. The mileage clock is working but speedo isnt working. Is the reading taken from the sensor at the back of the box? Could this sensor be my problem

Id be guessing clocks themselves lad. Its not the speed sensor in the box if the odometer is still clocking up miles.
