Try give it an ignition live , it will light up then once you have ign on, your better off with some manner of a poer probe/ circuit tester so you know you have a good power supply,
have you tried driving it , does it come on boost and read, reading approx 0 bar sounds like it's plumbed onto the boost side, pic's of how the pipe is routed would help
Sounds like you took the power feed from the wrong wire "possibly a light for cig lighter".
Does the gauge read a + value when you're driving ?
Get a little 12v wire tester in the motor factors, will save you alot of hassle. You have put your positive battery wire into a "lights" wire.
So it didnt go that smoothly at all ha ha.
As for your readings, i'd say you have it plumbed on the boost side instead of intake side. What line did you tee into?
took her for a drive to the offie just nowi also took pics of the readings and were there plumed into. uploading to photobucket at the moment, so they'll be up in awhile.
will have to go and get a 12volt wire tester 2morrow i say, strip down the dash again and find a better spot for the power.
@hoopsbhoy-it went smoothly enough for a first timer i thinks
the readings act seemed fine wen on full boost, both read the same at +0.5 bar (thats when i get my missfire). only the fact that i went and played around with the boost controller did i realizer that the readings it gives on idle isn't in bar but mmHg.
as cooldrft said, it sounds like you've the wire for the light ring around the cig lighter as your power feed and not the wire that powers the cig lighter itself.
that makes a diff because that light ring is only powered when you turn on your lights.
the trigger wire on the stereo is a blue wire usually.
yeah you used the wrong 12v feed, you need a ign feed, not a light feed.
Also cheap boost gauges never give a ture reading. In work we use a greedy boost gauge to set cars up and then plump back in its original gauge and some of the readings you see is funny, some cars the cheap gauge reads 0.7 even though they are running 1 bar.
or give it to some one who konws wat their at![]()
