    yeah you used the wrong 12v feed, you need a ign feed, not a light feed.
    Also cheap boost gauges never give a ture reading. In work we use a greedy boost gauge to set cars up and then plump back in its original gauge and some of the readings you see is funny, some cars the cheap gauge reads 0.7 even though they are running 1 bar.

    Do not if you can help it, you learn by doing, you cant do to much damage with a gauge anyway
