    Default Petrol Tank Position

Well i took the standard tank out of s13 drift car and i want to put aftermarket 1 in the boot

Just wondering does any one no were you should put it what size you should get what way it should sit and so on that it would help the car get a good drift with out afecting the handling and so on

The subframe bushes were hanging out of the car, as were the wishbone bushes, the pick and mix of coilovers knocked like a song by guns and roses,The respray was the roughest I'd seen since Stevie Wonder Autobody closed down and the front panels had gaps as straight as turn 2 at mondello, Yeah,Straight car I'd say!

I think there was a debate about fuel tank positions in someones build thread on here a while back..

Personally i believe and i'm sure a few will agree that in drifting, its better to keep weight, especially the likes of fuel, as close to the middle of the car and as low as possible so when transitioning your not trying to swing the back of the car from left to right and bring with it fuel which will be sloshing around in a tank..
If the fuel tank is infront of the rear subframe (standard on S14's, S15's) its makes the rear end that bit lighter and easier to throw around, where as in S13's and Skylines the tank is all the way at the back of the car and while that creates a good weight distribution through-out the car, it can take more effort to move, i.e when transitioning!

As far as tank size's go, smaller is lighter which is better but you dont want to be running out of fuel or topping up after each run!

Ye thanks guy s for some idea s and i was looking back at rob s build thread and seen people were saying put it as low and far back

So i did a bit more searching and seen some drift car builds ie phil s off driftworks build he did the same right to the back and its just as low as the diff and his tank is nt wide but long which id say would stop the petrol moving it self left to right and giving the car a bit of a kick every time it happens which id say would cause the snapping

As this is what i was wondering that the petrol would have to cause the car to move a bit at the back if there was petrol in a long tank causing the snap so id say do like rob but make the tank long but narrow about 25litre s and foam fill it so thats 25litres can just about move and will be light on rear and would have anuff juice for a bit

Would you think this would work

Yea lad you wouldn't be too far wrong at that....! Petrol will even swish in a standered tank....! You should have a lift pump pumping it into a swirl pot and then a bosch 044 from the swirl pot into the engine.....!

What kind of lift pump are you using or were did you come across 1 and there was a gtr pump in my org tank will it work the same as the bosch or does it need to be submerged
