Petrol Tank Position

Well i took the standard tank out of s13 drift car and i want to put aftermarket 1 in the boot

Just wondering does any one no were you should put it what size you should get what way it should sit and so on that it would help the car get a good drift with out afecting the handling and so on

I think there was a debate about fuel tank positions in someones build thread on here a while back..

Personally i believe and i'm sure a few will agree that in drifting, its better to keep weight, especially the likes of fuel, as close to the middle of the car and as low as possible so when transitioning your not trying to swing the back of the car from left to right and bring with it fuel which will be sloshing around in a tank..
If the fuel tank is infront of the rear subframe (standard on S14's, S15's) its makes the rear end that bit lighter and easier to throw around, where as in S13's and Skylines the tank is all the way at the back of the car and while that creates a good weight distribution through-out the car, it can take more effort to move, i.e when transitioning!

As far as tank size's go, smaller is lighter which is better but you dont want to be running out of fuel or topping up after each run!

15 to 20 litre tank would be sufficent if it was me id put it over the back wheels but everyones opion on it deffers

It was my build thread this dissucion was in....! Tank as far back and as low to the ground as you can sunk into the boot floor.....! You still want these bits lad ring me....!
