could be the switch on the little black box behind your dash on the passo side is broken? thats whats wrong with mine, try find it and hold the connection in and see if it changes then

on ur 180sx i think under the radio, there is a controller for auto temp looks like a little tiny air vent , fairly small, a pipe goes onto the back of that, connect it up and try it
