    Default diff question.....

    well lads, quick question.......

    I was told by the old owner on my car that as far as he knows the diff is standard... its silent in action the odd wheel skip when turning very tight but nothing much!!

    Was wondering though if i come out of a junction and turning under power it pulls away fine then you can feel it tighten up and the diff seems to lock....

    would this sound like maybe a 1.5 way even?? more so than a standard helical diff??

    anyone wanna swap s15 helical lsd for 1.5 or 2 way...

    i dont tink yours has a 1.5 way or 2 way
    becasue ray chnaged his in his 15 to a 2 way
    like the s15 diff will lock but not great there ok
    but only going on here say
    there a name for them diff that in the s15
    there not same as other s14,13

    there thread around with some info on this

    yeah its a helical diff...works on worm gears rather than pressure plates!! just it feels like its locking solid... I could go around a corner and put the power down halfway and you can feel it tighten up!! fuck it ill get under is later for a good look!!! any ways of knowing for sure without opening?? and who's ray johno? sorry...

    Mint had a similar issue.
    He was looking/wanting a 1.5 or a 2 way untill he realised that the standard 15 helical actually worked rather well up on his local touge.
