14a uk and jap engine differences

Just looking to no is there any major differences engine wise between a jap s14a and a uk one. Like if I had a full jap engine wit loom and ecu can I throw it straight into a uk spec one ?

sr20det uk - vvt (known as nvcs), noticeable on the inlet cam side of rocker cover
sr20det jap - non vvt and inlet manifold is kinda upside down (low port I think that's what it's called)

odd plug will be different I suppose when it comes to electronics

they all swap into each other iv put vvt s14 into s13 so as far as i see nissans sr20det all fit albeit a few connectors but nothin you cant sort handy enough,

just put your bare jdm engine into the uk shell w/ loom and away ye go....

Thanks paul just wasnt sure if it was a different set up so didnt want waste my money getting an engine that I would have hardship wit after
