You cab buy them very cheap on eBay, might be handier to just do that rather than make one yourself. Although I'm sure there's not a whole lot to making one anyways!

I've seen a good few "DIY" camera mounts in Kartworld and ive seen a good few smashed cameras fall off em.Duck Tape prob your best bet,or Gorilla Tape if you can get it.If its an expensive camera i wouldnt chance it but if its a cheapo then do it...
