Hopefully lad, we will be working on it flat out for the next seven weeks. The kit is arriving in England the last week of March if the container is on time. That was the earliest I could get that kit shipped in once I decided that I was definately going with the FC rather than re-shelling. The paint will be still wet on it at round 1 ha ha!

Nice work. Would you mind me asking what make the hydraulic power pack for that bender is and where one could be got in Ireland for reasonable money?

Thanks a million lad, were putting all we have into it now. It would have been so much easier to re-shell but this just felt like the right way to go and we wanted to see what a properly built FC could do. I think theyre just awesome anyway ha ha The Sileighty was a great car but at the end of the day it could have been turned back into a road car straight away, all the heater stuff, glass, standard tank, electric windows etc. were still in it, it was going to be fully stripped this winter but I made shit of it first! So hopefully we will go well in a properly lightened chassis.
One of the main problems will be a lack of testing time in a car which will most likely be very different to the Sileighty to drive and will require more time to set up because the common geometry settings that work for the S bodys might not necessarily work for an FC. It means that I'll be sitting into it in the first competitive round more or less completely new to the car and will still be going 90% the first day out, but with Darren's wealth of knowledge on chassis setup I'd hope it should be good from the get go, its just a case of tweaking it to suit the driving style then.

The days spent at the car are getting longer, and there are some late nights ahead methinks!

Holly's hoodie would prove prophetic as his PD jacket hosted a small fire a while after this!

The camera on time lapse watching the build

Fabricator supreme 'Happy' Darren shaping the ends of the A pillar bars

Holly taking the 'less is more' philosophy really seriously!

Happy lining up the passenger side A pillar bar before its tacked in place. This man is a pleasure to watch at work and himself and Darren McNamara are men behind the awesome Need For Speed D-Mac AE86

    Gratituitous PD shot!

The back section of the roll cage is going to look really well. We've gone for a basic yet effective cage design, which will be very light yet structurally strong

The engine bay is ready for seam welding and paint

Excellent stuff young Fitzgerald - must be fantastic to have such a great team of guys working on the car - knowing that when it gets the first round its going to be on the money.

So excited to see this car painted and finished
