Happy Darren did a top notch job of tubbing the rear arches, welding them the whole way around. He went way up with the tubs so we should be able to sit her right down on top of the 18x10 inch wheels, which are also from a new sponsor and will be unveiled with the car

FC, meet SR, SR, meet FC!
Back at the end of 2010 when this project started there was no talk of any problems as far as cutting bulkheads to fit engines further back went, but now it's banned in Formula D and it looks like a lot of series in Europe might follow suit in the future. Only might though, it remains to be seen. The SR lined up pretty well as far as the gearbox tunnel side of things went. The problem is that in an S body the steering rack is behind the subframe and sits level with it height wise, and in an FC, which was designed with a compact rotary in mind, the rack sits at the front and is on top of the subframe. We knew coming into this that we had several options: Use a complete S13 front end including subframe, steering, and suspension, modifying the top shock mounts aswell to take the S13 shocks. Make a custom sump and oil pickup for the SR and move the steering rack of the FC either 70mm forwards or about 55mm downwards, extending the steering column, but this would totally alter steering geometry and by changing the angles of the steering arms it would affect things like ackermann angle, bump steer and lock, aswell as making the arms go into a bind situation early in the suspension travel and possibly putting a lot of unnecessary pressure on the steering arms. Thirdly, and most likely, we could cut the bulkhead, shove the SR with the modified sump back a few inches, cut a tunnel for the exhaust, more cutting for the gear lever, and move the wiper assembly and clutch cylinder. But this may be outlawed in the near future, abroad at least. Hmmmmmmmm....
A bit of thinking to do so, but in the mean time, cos I'm a huge size of a man, we line me up early with my seat, wheel and awesome new, long handle ASD hydraulic handbrake complete with .75 Wilwood cylinder so that we can have all the inside fabrication work done and ready for painting by Dan.

And another day at MCNSPORT ends
We had brackets made to fit the sear direct to the floor, but Darren produced FC specific rails which provide seat adjustability in what is a very tight cabin so they were very welcome. I like to sit high up while driving anyway but with my helmet on it's a tight fit to the cage! We decide to go with this height for the time being and we can drop it at a later date if it's too high
We might have to leave the sunroof out!
