is the clutch disk in the right way round
is the clutch disk in the right way round
Ya, i was thinking that too.. it defenetly is, they can only go in one way..
We had the box down today, and made sure to check that.. its defenetly in the right way.
was it a complete new clutch kit u got??
was it goin ok before hand?
with most of them clutch kits you get a full kit like , release bearing , sleeve , slave cylinder etc with the clutch , had this problem before.
where did u get it ? u should have got everything that was fitted to the last car it came out of.. often the release bearing is narrower , often the sleeve is shorter and usually the slave cylinder is different also.
i put multiplate clutches in both my s14's.
last time i noticed on the orc super single clutch , is that the pin comin out of the slave cylinder itself is actually about 10 - 15 mm longer than standard . so that could be a problem ...
an the sleeve that the release bearing sits on was also shorter...
on another twin plate os giken clutch i put in the other s14 , i had similar problem, i bought it off a guy , he gave me a standard sleeve for release bearing , couldn get it right , went back to the same lad checked the box that was fitted to same car as clutch , and the sleeve was left in the box thank fuck.. i measured the difference and the sleeve part was actually 8mm shorter than the standard one... the release bearing was exact same width as a standard one..
check out these things , hope it helps , and i know for sure that on some of the clutches kits the release bearing is often narrower.. may be the problem an may not.. try get the parts from the car it came out of...
nothings easy , pity there not jus a simple fit..
Thanks lads, im trying to find information on the super single on the web, but its only info on the super twin that i can find.
I got it off japenese performance a year ago, but i had to rebuild my engine and alot more setbacks after that, so i ony got around to fitting it now.
Its a second hand clutch, he said he got them off os themselves..
He gave me the clutch and a release bearing, but im doubting if the bearing is right now.
And as for noting being easy..THATS FOR SURE!
