Default My New 2011 Drift Car Build MCNSport, Brady Car Sales SR-AE86

After a good year’s drifting and plenty of problems in 2010, I thought I would spice things up a little and go for something I always wanted after a lot of thinking and phone calls in November I decided what exactly I wanted for the 2011 drifting season, I picked up this jap ae86 bare shell of Premier Performance Cars in Monaghan, the shell was in fair good condition with very little tidying needed,

Over the christmas season with plenty of time on my hands we decided to tackle into get the shell prep'd for seam welding,

    In Around Chassis Leg

We Never tried anything like this before so it's all new to us, i was lucky plenty of my friends were around to help!First Bit of Seam Welding in Around Front Arch where we removed all the bits that wasnt needed, and made plenty of room to allow for extra lock

And Some seam welding on the underbody floor

After all welding was complete underneath we gave it a nice light grinding down to get it rerady to be sealed and some gravi-tex to keep it nice and tidy. Even Got the Girlfriend out helping me many hands make light work

When the seam sealer had dried it was time for 3 coats of gravi-tex again the proved she could do more than horse riding!

This is how it turned out when it had dried up, Notice i have removed the rear tramp bar holders and the frame for the panrod arm to allow me to fit the 180sx subframe

Here's a Pic of the Rear Arches we cut a folded them up then tacked them with a small bit of weld

After A smooth skim of fibreglass and a lick of pawn

I had a man lined up to make my cage but when the pressure was put on he wasnt going to have it ready in time, so we said we'd give it a go ourself.. actually turned out pretty damn good for our first cage!

Brought it through to the top of the front strut

Time For a touch of paint

Not Much More for us to do while waiting on MCN Sport to fit the rear subframe so we got it ready to paint around the engine bay and the door frames.. my dads pretty handy with the spray gun he did panel beating for 16 years so he was more than happy to help me out!

I was going to spray the engine bay black and in around the doors black, but i came across a little bit of a flip paint i had whne a green/gold tint in it( looks great when up close pics dont show it atal really..

Thats all for Now people the car is currently in the hand of MCN Sport and Damien Mulvey motors where there is a serious amount of work and updates to be completed updates coming as the progress begins
