Exclamation D1 again, seems theres a reason for..

all the moaning i done here..http://www.driftireland.com/showthre...light=downfall

Im bringing this back up again given the annoucement of dai inada and keichi tsuchiya leaving D1 a few weeks ago..

In Inada's latest interview he talks about pretty much all i was on about in my last thread about d1 sometime last year.. I wonder is it a cover up to restart the whole operation in a new form like a restart option in a game or is it plain and simple that D1 was just money hungry and had lost its backbone forgetting where it came from and why its was invented? This commercial D1 we all seen before was is said by inada to have been all down to the new head of D1 corporation who was introduced 2009..

    dai's interview..

What dai says makes sense to me and i can relate to it so much given i have been thinking about it everytime D1 comes up..

    So i wonder??

Its a nice twist to the sport and im looking forward to its pregression

Great read, they left because they had pure love for the sport and wanted to make it enjoyable again

Be good to see them using all the smaller circuits again as the bigger tracks are cool to watch cause of the speed but the more smaller technical ones are most entertaining for real close stuff

Id say it all depends on revenue and sponsers

It would be great to see tighter tracks for a change in D1 although Im not
    complaining of 80mph+ backwards entrys

    That's an interesting read alright
after all it's just business these guys are legends in the drifting world and they're not getting any younger, so I say fair play for walking out on D1 if they weren't happy.
You could nearly see a slight lack of enthusiasm in them at last years d1gp compared to previous years.

I can't wait to see what they come up with, and I hope all the top drivers and sponsorship will follow them in 2012.

True. I think in order for Dai and tsuchiya to suceed it will be down to the current D1 drivers to show where their loyalties lie,
as at the end of the day it is the drivers that people follow.

Same with D1 they are screwed without sponsors and household names such as Yokahama who have pulled out already.
The next two years will tell alot. Hope it works out well for them.

Personally i wouldnt like to see them interact with the Fomula D series, to remain unique
and retain there identity although saying that it does make for good viewing

e.g Ueo katsuhiro at the Red bull championships back in 08 which was spectacular.
Word had it tsuchiya didnt want no d1 drivers to participate in that event for some reason.

But as Dai stated they are will to do another event there in the future so who knows
