A little progress on this. I picked up the downpipe and midpipe the other night and got started fitting them....ran into a couple of problems though!
I'll let the pics talk.....although I still cant figure out how t get them the right size, keep ending up either too big or too small

So this is what came out

These are the new bits. Whoever had the downpipe wrapped it in heat repellant tape for some reason rather than heat wrap when I got it and the threads on the boss for the o2 sensor were shot aswell so I spent a while getting the tape off and cleaning up the pipe and the threads
    From this

    To this

    And this

    To this

While I was at it I went searching for any worn/cracked/disconnected piping there might be,
I found 2 of these that were fairly shabby and one was disconnected

So I replaced them with these

When I had it running again after I finished it made the difference, the car stopped hunting and is a little smoother on idle

So after that it came around to fitting the downpipe and I ran into problems. I had to return it in the end and run the stock downpipe as it just wouldnt fit, you can see in the pics the size of the stock d/p compared to the a/m one, and the space between the turbo flange and the column. The diameter of the downpipe is extremely narrow to allow for the steering column to fit, compared to the width from the flange to the outer most point on the a/m pipe.
Even still though the difference is noticable with the decat, the accelator is much more snappy than it was and it comes on boost much quicker, fucking nightmare though after taking it all apart.

Then just gave the brakes/Hydro a good bleed out tonight, going to buy some heavy duty clips for the ic piping tomorrow. Then just a few niggly bits too sort and then should be ready for mapping

you have to resize them before you upload them

i use a program called 'irfanview'
    its free and easy
open the pic, click edit<resize< and just make it like 33% of the original

I took off the little gay wing and I think the car looks much better. I didn't think it suited the car at all

I also made a little mod to raise the bonnet to improve the air flow for cooling and couldn't resist taking a few pics after a clean! (hasn't been washed in the first 2 pics)

So its pretty much ready for mapping now bar a little slop in the steering which should be sorted before Thurs. Then on sat im hoping to get the suspension set-up properly (if the lads have time that is).....and then mondello Sunday provided I don't run into any complications between now and then!

Spotted this down in arklow, sorry about the shit pic. Have a fetish for e30's and this one looked really clean from the outside
