1 turn of the prop= 4 turns of the wheels.. is an example of a 4:1

3.9 real long gearing slower accelerating
4.1 gearing a bit shorter slightly quicker accelerating
    4.3 shorter gearing quicker accelerating

4.3 you would be pulling 3rd gear around most pd street tracks (near standard power)where a 3.9 would'nt have the legs for 3rd unless you were flat out on long track like mondello carrying plenty of speed..
Higher up you get to a ie 4.9 you get the quicker acceleration and higher gear you can pull

Dunno if that make sense to ya ha

you get the final drive ratio from your crown wheel= 4 and pinion =1 as jonny said , but if your buying a new 2way to fit your car ratio will be whatever's in your car, it's only if your buying a cased diff that you'll be told the ratio! if that's any help

4.1 would be a good second gear diff

4.3 would be better geared for pulling third (easier to pull 3rd than a 4.1 with standardish power)

    What bhp have you got?

4.1 for second gear drifting with your power (you'll pull 3rd through the s's in mondello)
4.3 would make life easier for pulling 3rd everywhere else
