If your with Eircom, I hear you'll get a nasty mail through the door telling you stop pirating. I think NTL are ok.

As mentioned once you have decent anti virus/ anti malware i.e AVG, avast, Norton, McAfee you'll be fine (In most cases ). Sure most of the computers on the internet are owned by hackers anyway.. sure what's one more haha

I can assure you of this. I do a bit of part time security testing for a few of the main browsers

Best bet is to boot into safe mode. basically starts the OS without the main services/ applications running. Its usually one of the F keys (i.e F8) at bootup. I'd then run a couple of programs and let em finish.
You should only have 1 anti virus, no point in having 2, they could interfere with each other. Anyway, if norton is upto date give that a run safe mode.. it should clear out the trojan.

I'd also run spybot search and destroy (google it)
    adaware by lavasoft (google it)

The folks at Norton provide some info on it http://www.symantec.com/security_res...003-99&tabid=3
but sometimes booting into safe mode is needed, malware can lock files so they can't be deleted while the malware is running

And don't use internet explorer, its one of the worst browsers you can use, security wise. Get Google Chrome or firefox, preferably Chrome

I can't do anymore without looking at it.
