What power you hoping to achive? The bigger the turbo you go for the worse the lag and more expensive for supporting mods etc, for a 380-400bhp setup depending on other mods go for the gt2871r very quick spool and with my experience with one there's no lag!!

i done all that with mine.. was going to get a HKS3037 but ended up getting a HKS GTRS which made 411bhp and over 400 ft lb torque at 1.5bar, very responsive turbo

holset hx30 is a very responsive turbo and its journal bearing so it should last a bit longer than a ball bearing one.i am making .9bar at 2.8k rpm but i have lots of mods done

If its a road car, then 2871R but thats a bit weak spec for my liking, min should be a GT3071R .64a/r with external gate in low mount works a treat, 400bhp and next to no lag really, full boost just a touch over 3200, massive bad of power too.

    Clarkey.

GT3071R... are they common? Just out of curiosity, do they come up for sale often? Whats the difference between a 2971 and a 3071?... Im a noob at the number part of turbos.
