Apparently the best choice is to get the best from both head of a 1jz and bottom 2jz to give you 1.5jz. The result is suppose to be a torque monster. Theres one in a pink chaser I think he's on here not sure tho
stock 2j head actually flows better...... the 1.5j idea is from guys running a 1jz and upgrade the block to 3litre but wanna keep their turbo, mani ecu and wire'n!! saying that a 1jz is known to have more of a rev range than a 2jz.... I'd go for 1j over 2j anyway!!![]()
Look min modifed motors lad it has full spec....! Look at nigels car and christys car....! More or less the same stup bar the head work and near 200bhp in the differance....! Dunno whats the story there...!
i actually hav the mag here but i usually just look at pics and flick pages ha ha ha must throw on the slippers and do a bit of readin
also any idea wat is the cost of 1jz engine box ecu and loom
and wats the cost of 2jz engine box ecu and loom
also which is better r154 5 speed or getrag 6 speed
the vvti engine makes more power as standerd anyways..i done alot of research before i went with the vvti engine..and it worked out good...have done a full year with the engine and did'nt have to put a spanner too it..it made 620bhp @1.4 bar boost which is great for a stock engine
as nigel said the 1jz has a better rev range..2jz winds out faster
i have driven both and the 1jz sure feels alot better goin up the revs.
maybe the 2jz vvti would be better but there rare and expensive.
most of the 1.5jz engines ive seen have not been too reliable
they are if done right but that costs extra money when not needed...
best getting a 1jz..i sold a lad a 1jz vvti engine in galway he has it fitted
to a 180sx bog standerd engine with a chipped ecu made 320 on the dyno
which is great for a stock engine
