    Default 2010 Drift Build Questions

    Just a few quick questions

    I was looking at the Regs on the PD website, and i want to clear a few things up if anyone can help;

It says you need a min of a 7 point or better roll cage. I understand where a 6 point connects to the body, but what is the 7th point? I currently have a half cage and if the pipe thickness meets the requirements i want to just add to the existing cage.

Do you need a fixed rear diagonal or will a bolt in one do?

Is there just the two competitions; Amateur/Pro?

Where do people generally put the Cut off switches on the cars (i've an R32)

And finally, do cars have to have bonnet pins or am i reading that wrong?

On a differant note, does anyone know if anyone else plans on running any drift events other than PD in ireland next year? I've been out of drifting for a long time and am basically starting from scratch again, so am nervous about going out against some of the best drifters in the country (i'm sure you will all agree that even the amateur class in PD is fairly shit hot)

Anyway i think thats all i need Any help appreciated

    Cheers

    Larry

7th is the diagonal rear, joining the bottom most rear part of the cage to the top, i presume it has to be fixed..

3 classes - Amateurs, Non-Seeded Pro and Pro.. (Non-Seeded is the Semi-Pro equivalent of previous years)

The pull side for the marshals is generally on the bulkhead on the passenger side, or fixed to the corner of the bonnet.. The cut-off for the driver
inside is within the reach of the driver while strapped in, anywhere in the cockpit..

Yes, standard bonnet and boot latches need to be removed and pins installed so marshals can open either, incase of emergency!

UDC, the Ulster Drift Championship run events up north.. As of yet Prodrift and UDC are the only current run drift events in Ireland, apart from practise days!

Oh jesus thats the first thing i'll be doing. I'm actually doing an autotest in Wexford on October the 10th - not drifting i know but a good way to get back into the whole scene again.

I'll do a few days in Tullow, then Stones and then hit mondello early next year if all goes to plan.

    Can't beat experiance :P
