Blame Proddrift??? Everyone knows the rule... As soon as the other car is at the startline the 5 min rule starts... No 1 else questions it as its the same for every1... we all no how it works, the driver has to be back at the line ready to race before 5 mins runs out... otherwise we'd be waitin all day... SIMPLEEE!!!!! so whether it was in the pits 2 mins r not dont make a difference.... And who you are???? Last time we were in Ennis 1 of the Lenihans got to the line but didnt get his helmet and harness sorted in time so he was gone... Every1 nos how it works so deal with it.. NO exceptions!
there is actually one thing i dont get about the crowd vote....whe does it go to the crowd 3rd? surely the 3 judges should make the call and if they are split then and only then do the crowd get a say?
as in
judge 1: driver a
judge 2: driver b
judge 3: omt
then the crowd vote???
or does the crowd vote not really count and its just there to make people feel more important?
My Opinion on Round 4-
-As Dan explained the crowd vote after the first two judges so they have a chance to participate in the result, before the final judge decides. We all have to remember that the fans are the most important part of every event, no crowd, no Prodrift. To be honest, everybody in Mondello wanted to see JP and Damien go OMT, and although neither won in the end, that was the most talked about run by every fan there.
-My heart sank when I heard James Deane's car pass me at the end of the final. It was going to take something special from either James or Eric to seperate them, unfortunately we didn't get to see the proper conclusion, but James still got more points, deservedly, than any other driver contending the championship and Eric nailed the whole weekend and proved that he deserves to be where he is in the sport.
-As Mike Fitz said, no spins in the superlap, no big offs, battles coming down to the wire, just goes to show how close the field is and how much talent right through the ranks.
-As for Mr. Meegan, who I was bigging up on Saturday, I can honestly say Richie would never show a lack of respect to car or driver and does so much behind the scenes to help everything go smoothly. As for the 5 minute rule? I do think its harsh but it is enforced on every driver. Drivers and fans seemed to have been impressed with the organisation and timetable changes made by Prodrift to keep things moving quickly and make sure action on track is constant. All that is only possible by keeping the 5 minute rule, but I did really feel sorry for you Mike, you were nailing the course up to that point.
All my own opinion but I have to mention:
- Fair play to Dan Moorhead for jumping into a new car and putting in some serious runs first time out.
- JP McCarthy and Damien Mulvey for having the whole Granstand on their feet with mouths open, spectacular drifting.
- Eric O'Sullivan and James Deane putting on the grudge match final I've been wanting to see all season, lived up to it, pity about James' gearbox, hopefully we'll see the re-match!
-Martin 'always the bridesmaid never the bride' O'Meara winning the non-seed outright and holding his own in Pro, deserved all the success.
-Felt so sorry for Nigel Colfer, showed too much aggresion maybe and lost a lot of points to James, but hey, gotta love the 'Go hard or Go home' attitude.
-Nixon's Monster Party was such craic, ruined everybody for Sunday but well worth the hangover.
-I could honestly go on for hours about every driver but I was honestly so impressed with the Amatuer and Non-Seeded drivers on Saturday putting in big runs and battles in terrible weather conditions. The crowd that were there loved it!
Reckon the event went really well despite the restrictions from Mondello.
Fermoy will be epic!
Its the most involved iv seen the crowd all year tbh.....! Normally dull enough crowd but mondello was a savage atmosphere....! Top top event except 4 some poor judging...!
