rebuild lad only got mine done and it cost me 800 he changed the big end ,shells ,rings,valves,polised the rods and pistons and all new gaskets and gave me a warenty with it
defo rebuild... no other way.

A rebuild is the best way forward as all have said but ONLY if it is done properly. There are lots of lads out there who know how to fit a set of shells and rings but there is alot more to a proper rebuild then that.
what wrong with it? rings, bearings? rebuild if the block is still good id say. if it need stripping and reboring- oversized pistons etc dont think itd be worth it unless your hoping for big bhp. what kind of motor is it?
As nissan doc said, it all depends on who's rebuilding it. you could just as easily be back here with the same problems again.
