Mk1 mx5 build
Wanted to make a build thread for a while now.
This is my second mk1 mx5. My previous one which I got last summer was robbed and burnt out last November. Not fun.
So I got this one in December and tried to get my life back together.
Started off as a red 1.8l auto eunos totally rust free and stock apart from the apex suspension. Gave it a good service. it's now a white, 6speed manual and has a nice stance to it. Id like to add pics with captions but my phone won't let me so I have them on photo bucket.
This is what it's like now :http://s1167.photobucket.com/user/eo...ary/2015%20Mx5
I also gave it a mk2.5 dash and seats.
Here's some pics from the interior swap : http://s1167.photobucket.com/user/eo...nterior%20Swap
It wasn't the hardest thing in the world but just took a lot of time. The wiring was a bit of a bitch too. Still have to wire up the electric mirrors properly.
It's got tein adjustable coils in the back and bilsteins with 40mm lowered springs in the front.
ILmotorsport aluminium rad.
DIY intake which is class.
KG works rear spoiler.
15x9 et0 rota kenseis with toyo t1r on rear
15x8 et0 rota Kenseis with nankang ns2r on the front. Love these tyres.
Arches rolled all round.
6speed manual which autocheck, Robert fitted with an XTR stage 3 clutch plate and uprated 1.8l pressure plate. Love this box so much.
Stock exhaust for now.
A/C delete.
The paint started of as budget DIY rattle can job. Got it sprayed I the end.
It's a peugeot Bianca white. Wanted it to be whiter than white.
Sanding it down took longer than expected. http://s1167.photobucket.com/user/eo.../library/Paint
Fairly sure that's it for now. Hopefully getting a custom exhaust in a few weeks.

Finally can upload pics.
Here she is now.
I have installed the rx8 420cc injectors and MS2 about a week ago and gave it a tune there last weekend. The install was very easy and dimitris' instructions were clear.
After a week of researching and doing no work at work I got to grips with tuning in theory. Gave it a go with my mate helping to road tune and quickly got the hang of it. Couldnt be happier with the result. A huge improvement from stock. Noticeable hp and torque gains and now chops my mates supercharged mini cooper S.
Heres some pics.

Turns out that manifold is'nt so gooord so I am decided whether to stick it on and run low boost for a while or just make a good one and jump in and run max boost.
so then I went and got these
Attachment 4897
So i may make a "log style" mani that will just never break.
V v tempted to stick it on for the track day but not 100% sure id get it done in time as we all know, something will go wrong and probably set me back a few days because cars suck balls.
looking forward to getting some michelin pilot sport 3s on as these budget tyres suck.

Fitted the new tyres for the trackday, love them.
Also made some side 'feed' skirts and fitted them and the intercooler. it was a bitch.
Manifold is now made. just needs a tiny bit of adjusting so it fits right.
Only need a downpipe and the turboing starts!

It fits.
Well the turbo fit in pefectly after a a quick alteration with the manifold.
Attachment 4933 It looks so big!
The downpipe I got didnt fit so I chopped it up and got some ss bends and made my own. For now, it's going from 3" to 2.5" to 2" back to 2.25" just to get me on the road. I'll be changing that eventually.
