should be changing your diff oil with your engine oil, less if youre giving it abuse like drifting.
ok i have the car 2 year but it a weekend car, lik there not that much miles on it, it only started coming into it before xmas............ oil never been changed
give it a change and see what happens, get castrol b373 if you can
Not a big job get under the car, look under the rear at the diff, 2 plugs can be seen. Un do the diff drain the oil, refill and bobs yer uncle :)
john id get straight onto changing that oil, i do mine every second service and my gearbox oil every 4th
there is no real wrong (to a certain degree) or right here lads most people i know including my self would be over cautious and change oils at every chance we get and i know some of the top drivers would change all the oils after every event. change ur oil if its still making a whining noise it could very well be the bearings in the diff
well most lsd manafacturers recommend you change it every 5000km or less if your using it for track, also johno make sure you get a mineral based oil, like either of the ones mentioned above. do not get a synthetic oil as the plate type diffs dont like it. makes them noisier.
bit of 7up in the diff and shell be fizzn down the track !hahahaha
:D:D:D
I can't get B373 here, but I know Diff put some Castrol stuff in my diff before, but can't remember what it was.
probably castrol ls 90, grand stuff.
Castrol b373 is serious tack for the money, i would change diff oil every 2 services
Millers lsd oil is good if ya cant get the castrol!
sooo castrol oil then :D:D:D:D
well iam gona change it, after car going all over europe and a 3 tracks days i say it due a change any how,
thank you all for your input
well one lads in urban doing the change for me as it due oil change soo doing the lot,
castrol b373 is the only job
redline shockproof i got in mine jhonno
what sorta oil for the gearbox? never changed gearbox oil in me life where the nut on that? right behind the engine is it
Shockproof is the stuff to use in your box, under hard driving the shockproof oil gives a greater cushion to the gear teeth on meshing and prevents wear better than other gear oils.
Theres two types mostly used,
Red 75w140
Blue 75w90
how much diff oil do people us??
getn it changed friday............... 2 ltr's??
