Interested in Japan? Japan:Insight//Taste

EDIT: I couldn't have done this without my friends that I had before I went and the ones I met during my time in Japan. This is not to say someone else cant do the same. I would recommend everyone to take a trip no matter what. Even if they don't care about cars.

People, Food, Cars. In that order.

Decided to make a page that can show you Insights to Japan.
Using all my own snaps, I'm not a photographer.
Wanted to be different, didn't want to be relaying the same shit as every other drift page. Its my own take on it. Random insights to stuff that I seen can't do any harm.

Hope people enjoy just little tastes of Japan.

Its not a dream land its just a class place.
Everything is convenient and people are incredible.

I'll not bother trying to give a number, I was VERY well looked after!
Telling you now, not one of you could even imagine, but in fairness, normal stuff can be done cheap, but if you wanted to spend 3 weeks and go to drift events and stuff, maybe 2k. If you don't get a rail pass, bullet trains are expensive, but gaijin have access to a JR Pass. I.e. a trip to Kyoto can be 80 quid each way, but a pass for a week is 300 yoyo's.
Don't let this scare you, I got my flights for 600 quid, Luftansa and free food and drink the whole way. that 12 hour flight hype is a load of bullshit too!

Any comments welcome dudes, I'm trying to be different. Just giving people random pictures to stimulate interest and maybe lighten up someones day, bot trying to be king ding here.

Didn't feel uncomfortable once in Japan dude! More hassle taking a bus to Galway than to live in Tokyo for a month. In my opinion anyways, but I was lucky in what I was given.

Hope the page gives you guys a little glimpse every now and again. No sweat.

Haha tokyo station is like something in a tim burton film, found it easier to go to ueano st. And transfer where you wanna go,
Price wise atm Thought it was on par with Ireland 98¥-€1 in October vs 2007 190¥-€1

Fair play great idea.

I have been interested in Japenese culture since I was a kid. Its a dream that will hopefully become a reality some day. I would love to have enough money to go for a few months and not have to worry about money, there is so much I would want to see and do.

My sister lived over there for a year, I wasn't in a position to get out while she was there though.

Ebisu is handy enough got to, Kyoto/Osaka is handy got to. People in Tokyo who complain about a Language barrier in Tokyo... slide on..!

Flight was dead on I thought, feel worse getting off a Ryanair flight from France than an Airbus A380 to Tokyo.

It isnt dear for normal stuff. Pints out are dear, but thats only us thinking that, its always been the same price for them, its just for us it seems dear.

It seems most of the pages I have liked in the past are sharing the same pictures over and over again between each other, it gets annoying after a while. No originality anymore.

Japan is so advanced its unreal,
Recycling is just religious! train,bus times are to the miniute.
You see people wearing some masks in the citys but also they might have a cold and dont want to infect others, some wont touch door handles are press buttons on a lift without using a tissue/wont touch it directly. same with coins n shops there are trays to place your money for paying and when getting a receipt and change.

the way you can get a temp reg for like a week to run in a new engine or drive it to the track at the weekend the transfer costs like €20, rock up to the track take the bumpers off and slide on.

Highlight was tokyo one night a bayside blue R34 screamin down the street then pimp chasers as taxis....

Was eating Koba beef in a place like that, slight korean twist to it too, sippin on this milk lookin alcohol out of a bowl, big fancy spot, did the job.
Went to Imahen a big fancy place and they cooked Sukiyaki for me, at my own table was fuckin class! I would fly over and back just to have dinner its that good!

Most speak a little bit, some beter than others and then you get some who havent a notion maily older people i thought,
I just put "O" at the end of every word... Traino, casho, foodo, petrolo, tyreo, drinko haha it worked for me!!

Language barrier is fine in Tokyo and Kyoto and stuff, its more out in the sticks and then older people who don't speak it, but they are always trying to help.
Taxi driver on the way up to Ebisu was a good one, Ebisu, dorifto, Irelando, hai!

Cheers dude, did not phase me at all in the slightest. Would have felt more outa place trying to get a few buses round Ireland. Not once did I feel a hint of being worried or scared, just completely chilled about the whole thing.
Although saying that I had EXCELLENT company and I am forever grateful for that.

See how it goes next time ;)

I recommend anyone to take the trip. Doesn't have to be a perfectly planned drifters holiday just go check the place out and hold back the dreams cause you will probs find your own anyways :)

going to a restraunt/bar and paying a guy to drive the car home is one of the best ideas as well.

Just Tokyo and Fukushima, did all i wanted bar disney land was gutted!! be back soon, ah just curious paths didn't cross, you must of been on track by the sounds of things? I had it in my head to go on my way to oz but job fell trough and then pt_2K did a write up on ebisu, booked a flight the following week.

Na, I just did this, and then another night did 280kmph on the Aqualine in a R35 GTR. Two highlights of the trip.
Went to Tsukuba Drift Muscle and then took a trip to Ebisu. Got out on Minami as a passo.
Hit up Daiko Futo in the MCR Tuned GTR.

Who did you have as a guide just you keep saying unique setup?

Its amazing what you can manage to see out there with absolutely no forward planning.. We got driven around the C1 loop in a 33 GTR to all the racers stops, chauffered to autobacs in a BMW X5 by some randon New Zealand dude and then brougnt to the tokyo auctions..

This all from knowing no one out there and just winging it ha ha

The person who gave me this opportunity was quite the dude, he provided me with a lot and this was the only way I could have managed it.
I was an international driving license away from driving the new C63 AMG Black C-Class about. Hanging out its sunroof going through roppingi, shibuya and shinjuku watching fireworks was pretty cool.
With out this friend and another I met over there my trip would have been fair different. :D
