Portlaoise is perfect for beginners in my opinion.. When i go to Mondello to watch drifting i dont feel confident enough to drive it properly yet. its more aggresive drifting compared to portlaoise, Im gona do three or four day's in portlaoise before i venture into Mondello..
whens the next day at portlaoise?
ya i get what ya mean im sure could be good bit of time spent in the grass there :p
anyone know when next day is that aint a comp or any drift day in general other than mondello
The comp in Port Laoise is just a friendly thing on the Sunday. The Saturday is a practice day, so it's a weekend of drifting. :)
il be out on track in mondello next month only been out in goldstone where i blew the car up cant really go any worse than that
its all booked out do ?????
will def go for a look anyway say will be great wkend of it chaser of yours be lookin well
@deco ya thats why sortin out a tramp for myself sure might give it a go see when get car sorted any passengers with advise will be more than welcome safty not guarenteed do :P
I was out first time on track at the last Mondello track day. Never even drove the car before. Just go out and drive the thing.
Its a tad bit intimidating when someone is sliding right behind you, but sure you have to start somewhere.
The clutch disappeared on the car after the first run. It was some rush, especially after a dacent spin. Roll on March!
I'd reccomend mondello lad ya can't beat the rush of drifting on a proper race track.
Doing the pd section brings a smile to your face.
I did my first day out in mondello a while ago. Was the best day i ever had even though I had lots of violent spinouts I got the hang of it quite quickley.
as long as you don't go manji up the straight you have nothing really to hit. Except hay bales.
I know a lad rolled his car in mondello the weekend but that's a rare occurence.
You can pretty much go balls out into every corner without having much to hit.
If your not familiar with your car do Portlaoise first, Then go on to Mondello, IMO
Bahaha:D I should be at the next one lad, your in the white 180??
Your sig says it all:D:D
Sorry to hear about your off, Is it repairable??
I've never seen the portlaoise track It looks small and confusing in the vids.
I must get down for a day it's much cheaper than mondello too btw
Ya thanks for advise lads ill sort car first den see whats happenin one will be done
in march touch wood :D
Id go for mondello, my first time was mondello and was grand just start of clutchkicking out of the corners and go from there mondello is grand cos u have lots of space if you spin out
i would pick goldstone or portlouise lad i went mondello my first time lad very good track but i found your under a lot of pressure with so many good drifters out there well able and flying threw corners
just my opinion
i was out there bout a year ago for my first day out and i lamped the car against the bank
...or Bishops Court. No less than 3 tracks going at any one time; a big empty square, a basic novice track and the full AMA track.
Then when you progress right up the ranks there are the 2 crazy fast figure 8 tracks ;)
Next event 5th & 6th March... http://sideways-racing.com/
If your already able to slide, then I'd say you'll be fine at mondello.
But if your a complete beginner then don't bother, all your going to do is hold everyone else up, go and practice in someone smaller, port l, or somewhere similar!
Ya will do thanks prob wont be till after that comp wkend
