As above, im putting rear coilovers in my ae86 and I dont know
which to get. Both are exactly the same money.
The car wont be doing much drifting or anything just road use really.
leave any experience you've had and your vote for AVO or GAZ !

Neither, id go for HSD, great value and are a serious coilover!
Avo are suppose to very good ..
yeah but how much are HSD going to cost?
Have TRD's in the front but I need to sort the rear out...
Cant get many coilovers without buying a whole set or spending
huge money, i've already spent enough on the car..
Is that the MCNSPORT AVO youre gonna go for??...Looks like a good bit of kit.
arent AVO's half the Price ?? of Hsd's??
Sorry just seen there your only looking for a set of rears, i thought u were looking for a full set, ya hsd's are around £700 for a full set
Well AVO's are the exact same thing as MCNSPORT'S as far as I know
(please correct me if I'm wrong darren)
I can get AVO's to my door (full rear setup) for
"the dampers are £90.00 each springs £25.00 each
freight £15.00
all + vat unless you are able to quote a eu tax code with order"
So thats 245pounds +plus Vat so about 315euro
OR buy from MCN for 440euro plus postage of say 10-15euro.
think AVO is far cheaper in my opinion and to be honest I got a full kit and bonnet off MCNsport recently and it was TERRIBLE! The bonnet was 1inch too big and there was pin holes everywhere on the bumpers and skirts. No brackets and things just didn't line up at all.
I spent a fortune extra getting them right for the car (you'll see my build up thread shortly) and I'm sorry I ever bought from them. You also can't ring them, you have to e-mail them which is a pain in the face sometimes.
I heard japanese performance in wicklow do HSD coilovers?
Any idea on price... they probably would be worth it in the end.
Driftworks own HSD and they sell them in England @ 760pounds plus postage.
I got Hsd's of driftworks and they are a top notch piece of kit!
Dont really know much about the other too so i wont comment!
thats fair enough scamper! I've used TRD before on a levin bzr and on an 86 now aswell but to be honest their too stiff and not as good a quality as people make them out to be (considering their price).
I also have Tein HR's on the ps13 and their good for the track but I adjusted them there the other week when I picked it up from the docks and they were bloody rigid too. (hoping I didnt adjust them right or something)
I've noticed BC and megan racing are good quality for price, but I also read on club4age I think that their all made by the same supplier and the only real difference is the outer casings and colours.
Any megan racing or BC suppliers in Ireland???
Wouldn buy the gaz, the shocks themselves are fine but spring seats etc arent great unless its gaz gold your buying...personally im not a fan of mounting coilovers on the shock support id just get 2nd hand short stroke trd's and springs to match its much cheaper and they do the job on a road car depends on the roads you'l be driving on one bad pothole(and theres plenty around navan) and your brand new shocks could be fu*ed:o
Barrys Motorsport in Cork is a dealer for BC.
@Gar-4-age 86- hahahaha yeah man navan is some disaster! Sure the road where i live is in BITS!!! fuckin disgrace...
Your from outside navan?

youd know you were friends with killian aka tekno!
@Hachihead- cheers for that man, his website is brutal but i got his number i'll ring about details on monday..thanks!

Right looks like i need to clear some things up here
Our MCN/AVO's would be different to the normal AVO'S you can buy. They are sold exclusively by us and the valving would be a lot different and they perform much better
As for the kit we did apologise to you when you were not satisfied with what you recieved. We also explained that these panels we have available are for drift cars. We had a huge amount of enquiries about cheap panels for the ae86 so drifters could break them and not pay a fortune to replace them. For example our bonnets are €240 and Origin are €400+. I am not making excuses for imperfections in the panels but as anyone who works with frp will tell you its very hard to get them right all the time
You can ring or text me any time on 0866063716
If you are happy with the ride height of your car, why not just buy 2 of our rear shocks and not use the coilover option. We want all our customers to be happy so we will offer you free shipping and a good price. Our shocks are also covered under warrenty
Pretty sure im correct in saying HSD's require you to box the rear suspension area??????
We could have the same suspension as HSD or Megan Racing if we wanted. All made in China with no vehicle testing just pick your colours. Hardly the preferable product
