doubt it, is it uk spec or jsp spec?
becasue that usely the sprocket i tink that what it called
it on the front right of the engine
uk spec, it dnt sound 2 be vvt rattle iv had that rattle before in other s14's
big end bearing's i reckon happend to me twice!!

i wouldnt jump the gun.....could be a million and one things.....i do laugh when questions like this pop up and people automaticaly say bottom ends,its a good possibility,but could also be a 100 and 1 other things....get some else to rev the car while you stick your head in the engine bay,have a look for the obviouse things you can see with the eye,something loose,loose bolts ect...then work from there!!!
I reckon the giggling pin has fallen out of the laughing shaft
happend a friend of mine & he went & done da bearings & it wasnt the problem at all, still not solved !
If it ain't the usual vvt rattle it could be....
Could be the top chain guide take the rocker cover off take it out and see if it stops. Nothting loose a round the turbo, heat shields etc is it standard?
Not sure but it could also be a knacker hydraulic lifter.
