So I left the primer sit for a couple of days and settle before I painted it, so in the mean time just began to prep my bonnet for the bonnet vent...

Obviously wanted to keep it as structured as possible so kept the underneath bracing only cutting the actual skin of the bonnet, still allowing for ventilation. But also tack welded the brace back to the skin as much as possible to keep it that structured...

Lick of sealer all round then just to stop any corrosion from water build up or any sort...

And then the primer seemed okay to work with tonight, so gave it a light rub down with p400 and got to work. The colour probably doesn't look very appealing in the photos, but it was still wet and its a part of a process.... Chose this dark gold subtle kind of base colour and have a little something special on the way in the post that I can hope I can pull off.

Leave it settle for a while and hope my delivery comes sooner rather than later :) But in the meantime.. Gotta riv-nut on tht bonnet vent and do a little more of a tidy and prep on my engine for it to go in as soon as the bay is finished :)
