Good Luggage Crew - Turbo Eunos Roadster NA

So I got the hydro of Bart. Sadly the lines werent correct (batch flaw) and with only a few days to spare I had to quickly order a braided lines kit off driftworks.

Of course it was the day before the event when the hydro could be fitted. But who to fit it at short notice? So although the lads (Will_C and PaddyBren) were going doing the diff they said they'd also attempt the hydro, having never done one before.

Now mx5s dont have alot of room, but I still ideally wanted to have the hydro on the drivers side. We came up with a place where it would fit mint, and yet not annoy me. They fab'd up a bracket, plumbed it up, and bled it. I have to say it turned out immense! Perfect position for me and locks up mint. This I was delighted with!

At least something worked going to the driftday! :D

So went to the driftday not feeling very optimistic. I was worried enough about it being my first day, the mx5s snappy nature and not ideal max camber and max low setup, but adding in the fact I'd no diff gave me no hope I thought.....

.........and I was pretty right ha! The car one wheeled everywhere. I got some good slides, some hairy moments and violent spins, and got thrown about everywhere in the car with it being so stiff, so low, bumpy track and gutters, and no bucket seat or harness. But I did manage to get some good hydro entries that I was happy with once I got my courage up, so I did get to learn something about the car atleast. Also got to take the borthers S13 out for a while, and that really let me fell and see how a properly setup car will behave. Really looking forward now to the next day when I have a diff and can really go for it properly!

Okay so finally of this long stream of posts to try and catch up for the last good while (probably leaving alot out actually!).

Future plans:
Well the next drift day is 2 weeks, but I have a 21st to go to the night before anyway so going to give it a miss. So I have about 4 weeks to get the car setup alot better.

For the driftday I used the Enkies I have. I have these somewhat sold but may keep them now. If not then I think I'll get a set of sportmaxs or something to have for driftdays. I need to run less camber basically and I cant do this at the moment with the steelies. So I'm thinking I might get the arches flared. That will allow me to run the steelies with less camber hopefully.

But mainly the diff should be sorted and I'll learn alot more having that done, and it should be alot easier. Bucket seat and harness are pretty vital but probably wont be able to afford them in time....but we'll see. Also need to put some padding on the hydro, as I've a serious bruise on my leg from being thrown against it lol!!

If nothing it was a real good learning experience on what needs to be done with the car for the next day. I was gutted when the diff didnt work out, and wasnt even going to bother going out, but glad I did now. Maybe I could drift it with that much camber but I think I'm only putting added hassle on myself. So we'll try and tone it down a bit.

Lot of other plans in the works now actually but just have to see what funds allow I suppose. Stay tuned, and I'll re edit some of these posts with pics hopefully when I get them.

I have no shortage of harnesses actually. I even have a harness bar in the mx5. Just I need a really short 2 seater harness. Actually sold my Takata one there, which was a pity as I've had it for quite a while now, but just would be too awkward to make it work I think.

No I definately held that ha!!! Serious lock on the 5 loooike.........actually probably need to put added lock on the list of things to do aswell. Have a few vids I think but will have to see if theres anything in anyway salvageable drifting wise lol!:D

Love reading this thread. I must say the wheels completely!!! make the car!!, Keep up the good work maybe I missed it somehwere but roughly what power she running?

Supposedly 220bhp at .8bar with a GTST turbo. But its probably not. Its certainly quick but its hard to compare it to anything else, so until I dyno it I suppose I wont really know for sure what it is figure wise tbh. But I'm happy out with the power and has more than enough for what I want. I'd say its probably between about 190-200bhp though?
