Cheers Kev. :)
Just got word that the replacement rear subframe has been picked up in England and will be here Wednesday, so get that fitted and the car will be a minter mechanically once again.
In other news Origin were actually out of bumpers so Mike Geary kindly agreed to sell me his one and he'll buy another when they're back in stock in eight weeks.
This arrived today. Thanks to Ysracing off DW for a hassle free purchase. :D

The bushes look fresh, and best of all it's straight and ready to be welded up for added strength. Locking collars are being looked for, and there's a heap of different braces and shit available in Japan, so my keep at the overtime in work and then the car will eventually be a lot more tight and drifty. :D
Ordered a KTS arb for the front and locking collars for the subframe about an hour ago, hopefully they arrive in time for the competition. It's looking like I won't have a hydro for the comp because I need to keep money to fix up what the car fails the Nct on, and the test is next week.
Will having a different colour bumper fail the Nct??
Please say thats not a serious question?
haha , no it wont.. much for the arb greg , where u order from ?
I don't get cars tested usually so haven't a clue. I'll pm you niall.
That's the same subframe I have sitting in shed :p. only kidding lol
Getting a nice few goodies for it now Greg on march :)
That rims really suite this joke !! Great project !!
Cheers lads. Hopefully all the bits help, and now that the front tyres aren't fouling the shocks the handling should be a lot better. Those pesky weak offset red wheels are only fit for the back.
Can a mod change the thread title for me, please? To...
My JZX100 Chaser, From Cruiser to Drifter.
Charming!!! Back in the kitchen, wench!
Earlier tonight, I brought the car for it's first hard drive since I got the wheels, seat, exhaust fitted, and removed the rear seats, which highlighted a couple of issues that will have to be sorted before Port Laoise in two weeks.
The passenger side rear wheel is scrubbing on the inside of the arch during hard cornering and the exhaust is hitting the ground when the car is squatting under full throttle. You can hear the exhaust hopping off the ground when I do a manji near the end of this video..

So, my options are either raise the car or get stiffer shocks. Fuck raising it! :)
Sounds Nice Man
Do you have any space to tuck the exhaust a little closer to the chassis?
A few mil might make all the difference.
There's not really any space, but Gem is having a look at it Wednesday and seeing what he can do.
The coilovers are as low as they can go which won't be helping, plus they are pretty soft and only fit for hard parking. And...... the collars have seized on them so I can't raise it back up. Carpo has a set of Cusco's there, but I'm broke as fuck this week, and next week, and the week after, so I can't buy them.
Quick update before I hit the sack...
Gem sorted out the coilovers and raised the car which sorted out the exhaust hitting the ground, he also put the cat in for the NCT which the car promptly failed. :D It only failed on a couple of minor things though which should be sorted soon.
What else... Got a bumper, sprayed and fitted it in my front yard, it turned out ok and will do until after Port Laoise.
Picked up a sliding rail off Copeyhagen, as well as Ganador mirrors and seventy billion wheel nuts. Cheers Rob. :)
Then this evening the KTS arb and locking collars arrived, but they may stay in the box because I don't have any time to get them fitted before Port Laoise. Thanks to Tom from Titan for sorting me out with those quickly and cheaply. :)
Anyhow, pictures...

That's about it. Anybody wanna volunteer to come to my house and fit bits while I'm working? :D
You bringing a spare bumper lol?
Glad you happy with the parts:DI will try get some stickers over to you:cool:
mean looking, luv them yokes!
sorry lad i love chasers and yours was mint but not a big fan of turnin a absalutly mint road car into a drifter unless your rollin in it
Definitely not minted anyway. :) The only bits of the car that aren't mint are the side skirts, front arches and back bumper, and the dirt on it. :D
Anyhow, I'm not a fan of posing and parking, but if that's what a person is into, then fair play. What's the point in having a big power rwd car and not using it? I like drifting, the car has been drifted on every track in the Republic(are Punchestown and Citywest classed as tracks because it hasn't been on them), drifting is hard on cars, cars can be fixed, life goes on.
Cheers Niall. It's not going to be just a track car though, it'll have NCT, a tax disc(out of date), and be used for commuting to work.
No mon, no fun. Cheers for the heads up though.
you done anything with my ganadors yet greggory?
gonna paint em yourself?
o i was fair hangin for them mirrors , cant believe i missed them :(
Right...... Got the ARB and locking collars fitted today thanks to Diff06(Dave) and they have made quite a good difference to how the car drives as it actually feels quite responsive and light footed now.
And...... Got this on my way home from work..

So I'm a happy chappy and all set for Port Laoise. Looking forward to an awesome weekend of drifting and drinking. Woop! :D

Delighted being honest. :)
Yip, 8 pieces. Seemed to be a quality bit of kit too.
Congrats on the NCT greg, happy as a pig in shit id say.
