Come monday it was time to get started.
I never thought my bumper would fit inside a car....

Got it into the driveway with a lot of scraping...

This being my first engine swap I was not best educated on what too do. I drained all the fluids, disconnected everything from the engine that i could to make space, diff is out, and engine box and prop should be ready to come out in the next couple of days.

Engine bay will be sprayed and treated for rust, some surface rust that needs attention

Its a big learning curve for me but im enjoying getting stuck in.
More too come

Got a bit more done today! New subframe painted and in! All the suspension arms back on so all thats missing from the rear is the diff.
I need shafts for the diff to bolt to the drive shafts if anyone has any? Goin into a cusco lsd and driveshafts are six stud!
Only took one pic as my hands were cold then it rained...

Cheers larz! Im really getting excited now. All going to plan tomoro and ill have the engine out and possibly new one sat in.
Anyone know if ill need a bigger starter motor?
Before this the biggest job I had done on a car really was changing a set of coilovers so im happy with progress so far. I do not have the head for wiring tho so ill leave to for someone to do. If I can get the engine and box in tomoro ill be almost there! Really keen to have it ready for japfest fingers crossed hai!
Two front wheels are off for a refurb with AAA custums at the moment so cannot wait to get them back!
pic for good measure....

Ok so started work on the car at 5 pm yesterday. We were set on getting the engine in that day but there was loads to do before it went in. We ran into pretty much every problem we could have, had to actually pay a very nice man with a van to move the engine from my grandmothers to my driveway, then I forgot I needed a non neo flywheel like a mong, so just for japfest the 20 box and fly is on. Not ideal but im on a mission. We eventually got the engine into the bay, but were about a centimetre to far forward from the mounts for a solid hour and a half. Some serious shakin about and finally it went onto the mounts! At this stage it was 5:30am... this was mostly due to my lack of knowledge, but I could not be happier achieving that much in my driveway with that little experience. The push is on for japfest now!
