dont have any of it in the car, my kill switch is located in the panel on the bottom left.
you could put yours just below your three gauages, will get messy with cables as you will have one to go from the switch to outsided the car, just a thought.

Update time
Worked fairly hard over the last few days to get the car ready for portlaoise. One of the things that i needed to do has move the hydro as where i mounted it wasnt great.
Had the car up with the good luggage crew and they helped me to bleed the brakes and fit a new water pump

We mounted the Hydro ontop of the tunnel

(insert other pic here:D)
Then after i was finished there i headed off to get the cage fitted. I was very happy with how the cage turned out :D

After i got the car home i had to do an oil change, change the half shaft and a few other bits.
Finished up at 3:20 on saturday night and was then up at 7 on sunday morning. I had the car ready to go up onto the trailer and my brother fitted the front bumper

Which then had to come off as the car couldnt get up on the trailer:mad:!!

Headed off to Portlaoise on Sunday left my house at about 9 and arrived there for 10:30

I had the car ready in PL and was out in the second group.

As its been pointed out to me that the front wheels are way too small on the front and the car is leading forward which is no good to me.
Cheers to everyone who helped me out over the weekend
impressive build man keep up the work
well done lad nice build just read through the whole thing.
Some sense of accomplishment getting it to that stage
Best of luck with it
Nice work lad, plenty of late nights before events to come but its all worth it.
its mad to see how far its come after the initial start to this thread didnt go too well lol.
the sacraficing of the green shell.
Good man Joe, keep it up!!
Build,What fu*king build.................!
:D
Ding ding round 2........ :D
Here we go again, lol. Iv a lot of work still ahead of me, the car is far from finished. Further plans are to use a spare rear frame and put solid bushes in it, I already hav the Driftworks bushes in the rear hubs and I'm gonna ditch the standard arms in the rear while I'm at it. Iv all year to get this car set up and also I can do a few practice days to get used to the car
fuck it, at least its drivable.
more then can be said for a few other cars.
my own included still. lol
feel free to drop out and bolt the body panal bits back on.
i havent seen it since i went to nyc in december lol.
Getting there, looks very nice so far:D
Rite where to start????
The weekend was a pure disaster for me, the waterpump was leaking fairly bad so a trip to Bradshaws was needed to get some radweld to seal it up, worked like a charm :D
Then the battery was fucked so I had to keep jump startin the 180sx so enough was enough and I had to head back to Bradshaws to buy a battery. Fitted that and then the starter motor started to pack it in
Every practice session I spun out and I couldnt control the car at all and there was also an air lock in the hydro so it wouldnt lock without a good tug.
Fast forward a few hours later and im havin a drunkin conversation with Dan Moorhead (During this Chuck feeds me some of his chest hair to give me some extra talent :o) and Dan agrees to take my car for a spin.
Woke up the next morning at 10am and me, Pete and Willis leg it out of the hotel and I have to get a lift in Pete's Skyline to the track. Again practice is bollox for me as I had no car control, At this point Dan takes the car off me and he couldnt slide the car. His exact words are "There is something HORRENDOUSLY wrong with your car, something is falling out of the steering!!"
We pull off the front wheels and the tie rod was loose as fuck, so in come Kaleb and Paddy Brennan to fix the car and beat the shite out of the bump stops to give me extra lock. The next time I had the car out and (for obvious reasons) the car handeled so much better but alas I was still shite.
My car needs a serious amount of work before I even consider doing another drift day (i broke one of the FMIC mounts) so by the looks of things due to a lack of funds the car aint gonna see the track again for a long time :(
Thanks to everyone for the help over the weekend and well done to everyone who took part and as for the Just Jap gang, congratulations on organising an epic weekend :D
Joe
I suppose this should be the point where I jump in and say I told u so....! lol...! Im bad but i ain't that bad...! Its a cruel cunt of a sport lad which eats up every cent....! I actually feel sorry for ya reading that last post...!
Don't give up so easy lad if I was to write about all the disastours days I had id be here all night...! Rome wasn't built in a day so chin up yea...!
Do it little by little lad if your short on dosh....! Sooner of later you'l find you'l have a good car.... :D
Its 90% hardship 10% enjoyment....! But fuck me that 10 % is good...! :D
Thanks lads :)
do ya need tie rods ?? tink ive my old ones there ,there yours foc just ta keep ya in the game hate to see ya give up !!
oh and if there the same as r32 :o
Dude if i can do anything to help you back on track give me a shout , get yourself an owl tramp bm or the like , and just get straight back into it, leave the 180 till you'v the cash to make it right
No iv got tie rods, and a few spare one's too. Im not givin up, but im not doin another day untill the car is 100% ready. Im gonna save up some money here and there and buy a few bits for her. Dave Egan told me to make up a snag list for the car and check every single last thing in the car, from the engine to the wheel nuts.
Jeez lad, just read through the thread, fair play, keep at her,,sounds good me saying keep at her when i havent done a thing on mine, lol
seen ya in her sunday alright!! car looked undrivable mate :(
Right lads after alot of thinking and some research iv compiled a list of stuff thats gonna need to be done to the 180sx. There's gonna be alot of changes made to the car, some big some small but all worthwhile :D
Im also gonna be doin some work to the chassis that if they turn out wrong it'll be disastrous and ill need to reshell the car
Wish me luck guys :D
whats the plans lad????
may get a good look at that car.. few bits to it and im sure we'd have it like stevos:D
i know a good welder :D
http://youidiot.org/wp-content/uploa.../02/welder.jpg
Im prob goin overkill, but the chassis mods might wait, im not 100% sure if im gonna do them yet
im with robbie on this one lad...
think ur mad if ya go gutting it..
get another shell and do all that to it..
but use this car for seat time.. all the parts are just bolt on and off anyway
its not very hard to get that car right again with the right few bits..
you'd have change from 500 quid....
and least you'd be out in it the next few weeks
Im with the lads on this also, i put Justjap hydro, adjustable suspension arms and extra lock kit in mine and the difference is so fucking unreal anyone that seen me out for the first time in the 180 and then the second time in the comp with them bits done will tell you the difference it made!!
Keep it simple!
Update:
Took the car for a drive on Sunday, car wont drive in a straight line as the tracking is all over the place and  the Turbo is fucked, the oil seals are gone in it. Its a T25 of a CA18 so im gonna replace it with a T28 of a s14 (maybe a T28BB)
I was really annoyed about this and is seamed like one thing after another went wrong so I considered breaking it :( but the lads on FB convinced me to stick with it. Thanks lads.
Iv booked a week off work so I can purely focus on sorting this car out ;) Ill be in a garage in Lucan from Friday to the following Sunday working on this. Ill have two mechanics with me to give me a hand with it :D The plans are to strip the car back to a bare shell again, give the shell a good clean and weld in plates to seal off the A/C holes in the bulk head. Ill be getting the Just Jap xtra lock :D and we might have a go at tubbing the rear arches (depending on time as we only have 10 days )
Word of warning im prob gonna be annoying the fuck out of a few of yea about the car so ill apologise in advance.
Lots of love,
Joe :D
lad i wudnt be worrying about welden up aircon holes unless its utmost neccesity and unless your runnin really wide rims on rear theirs no need for tubbing,i survived for 3 years without doing any of these things, your sole focus with that car is to get it handling, spend the money on only the right bits and bring it to wez to get set up and be done with it once and for all.:)
