Well said jay, some good points there.

I'd be fitting an RB25 engine with a big highlight and plus factor on the extra weight of it over the front end.. An SR20 is alot lighter, but with the extra weight of the RB, it helps to prevent understeer buy putting a bit more pressure on the steering wheels, which will help ya direct it where ya want it...
Also, with the 6 cylinders, your going to have alot more torque low down, along with opening a whole new window of tuning potential...
Oh, and the RB's make that wee noise too (thanks to those extra 2 cylinders ) ;)
RB the fuck right out of her and enjoy the power and torque on demand. Its a common transplant for a reason.. IT WORKS VERY WELL.
The only thing about extra weight on the front end though would mean your steering wouldnt be as easy going, i.e when you need to quickly correct a slide with the steering wheel it'll feel heavier..
Its a tough one, only way to find out is to actually do the conversion, ha!
Or ask someone that already has the conversion done, in a very nice manner, if you can have a go at horsing the sh!te out of their motor for a lap or 2.. ;) lol
Its the best way to make full and valid tehcnical decision as to whether or not you would like to spend £2000 from start to finish on a full SR > RB conversion :D
Stick with the sr dude.
Rebuild it, proper sized turbo and run e85, itl be reliable, feck all lag and lots of torque
I love the sound of rb's but the rb26 is prone to melting pistons from fuel starvation down the rail and are well known for sh1te oil flow. I think the rb25 shares some of those problems too, but i could be wrong.
I was told recently too that the design of the rb pistons really help in destroying head gaskets, if your getting one do the HG before ya even stick it into your car.
end of the day its your choice, but i know what id be doing :)
im sticking with my sr and gettin a big turbo for it
good call ;)
what tubby are you going for?
Buy my engine! 330bhp, 320ft lb's of torque!!!!
I'm RB'n my yoke fo sho:D
