Just read dis start to finished. Some work done in 5 months fair play pal
Some work goin on here lad fair play, the car looked insane back in the day. I was one of those lads mentioned who called to the door a few times with cash but nobody answered ha. I have a good few s body spares here in dungarvan if you want anything give a shout.
i know the lad that changed the colour of that car and put in all the stupid switches he recked it he is my neighbour he sprayed it white after hitting a pole one night diffing it YA I KNOW DIFFING he didn't know anything about sr's or s bodies
she's coming back to her old self fair play to ya lad keep the good work up id luv to see it back the candy apple red it used to be it looked so nice that colour and mean looking
So got the kit out this morning, done a quick mock up... Getting excited about my choice now, quite happy with it. Here's the mock up:

Happy enough with the choice, rear aero kit quarters need a small bit of a trim just to get the back bumper and side skirt to fit properly. Plan is to hopefully flip the dishes of the ssrs, rechrome and a polish and big ass spacers to get the right fitment. Gonna look into seeing if i can mount the exhaust a bit higher into the subframe to get more low and not worry about speedbumps. Then I'm also considering venting the bonnet and be cheeky and go for a BGW or a 326 wing. One way or another I'm going rivet on the back quarters as I quite like them on an s14. Coming along....
Few more snaps of kit:

Must finish that front right hub tonight and drop it on its belly :)
Looks like it's coming along well .overfenders aren't doing anything for it In my opinion I think rolled metal arches look way cooler but still looks awesome .you going for white again or red?
Have to agree, much prefer metal arches on S bodys but savage progress with it so far!
Savige looks very aggressive
Cheers men... Dunno what to do with back arches yet, they were flared originally but done poorly and have rusted up. Kind of wanted to go all out aggressive looking and rivet on the fenders and rivet on the bonnet vent. I was gonna keep the colour a surprise, but as I said, I'm gonna bring it back to all its former glory... But put my own twist on it ;)
Sexy back end man, cant wait to see how she turns out!
Can't wait to see this finished but please don't put the overfenders on it :p try and make the metal arches work they look so much more badass
Would stick with the other front bumper and rear metal quarters. Lines under the headlights are shocking with that bumper.

Threw back on the ganadors... To vent the bonnet or not......
Havent had a whole major lot of progress with my own car at the moment, helping the mates with theirs and getting the track cars ready the whole time. But finally managed to get mine outside which I thought I'd never see! Took a few photos to do a little photoshopping to see what colour I wanted to go and what sort of wing to go with. Still so undecided! So heres just a few snaps of it to give ye an idea of what its looking like.... Opinions appreciated...

Thats all for now... Gonna knuckle back into it very soon and get a big burst on getting the running gear back in and getting her running! Just wanna drive it! :P
Very nice man ya wer lucky to get that so cheap! There's a lot more out there sitin up too I'm sure
Car looks unbelievable! Do you mind me askin is it safe to flip dishes in rims like that? Might try it myself
Gona look epic !!!!!
Delighted to see this car being freshened up top to bottom.. Loved every page until that dodgy looking kit was introduced!
Please bin rear over fenders and do all you can to save the rear flared metal quarters! Every car has been molested with over fenders its done to death.. Get the original kit together and front bumper to match I would say its Origin
Keep up the good work! I hope it will see road again soon
Seriously This look is where its at .

Been a while since I updated this, so time to let ye know whats been going on. Not a whole lot, but some nice progress now and its full steam ahead now....
So as some of you have suggested, keep the flared arches and don't use over fenders, just to clear up, unfortunately the arches were pretty much beyond repair. The car sat up for 4-5 years at a 45 degree angle and unfortunately, our irish skies destroyed the rear arches. They were flared with filler, and the filler cracked from behind and ate away the inside factory arch. So over the past couple of weeks, I've had the car completely worked over on, and everything has been repaired and welded back up. So here it goes....

Eventually I ended up buying these SSR Viennas 11J & 8J just for a change of shoes to the Proffessors...

http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...pso7yvxtye.jpg
Split the Proffessors and sent away the barrels for a full polish, as well as sending away the faces and got painted in R32 GTR Silver and clear coated in a rainbow fleck. Centre caps ordered online so should look pretty sweet finished.
So we got down the tubbing...

Our main aim was to keep the welds out of the engine bay, trying to make it look as neat as possible.

Threw in a small gusset just to strengthen things up...
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psdgh5avn1.jpg
Small patches in back boot panel completely repaired...
So we went at those arches...

Rivnuts for easily taking on and off the arches if needed...
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psxx3xvxal.jpg
Fitment will be interesting when I put in the coilovers in the back considering that's without spacers...

Tidying up the engine whilst the car was away ....

So got it home, did a little mock up and put on the dmax spoiler I bought... Still undecided on a rear wing or not... Bought a driftworks bonnet vent but the fitment is cat, looking for a full fiberglass vented bonnet now... Heres a little consideration I had on a wing...

Plan now for the next couple of weeks is to replace every nut and bolt in all the arms underneath with brand new ones, picked up 2 cusco rear coilovers so throw them in, full new brake set up with braided lines, paint the bay & drop in the engine and running gear. Full steam ahead....
loving the loook of it....will be cool to tweek it a bit. but keep the stickers from when it was red. maybe change the uras front bumper. they look too cheap. dmax is far nicer, chunkyer and not so in your face with all the sharp edges.
Thats gonna look savage! As said above, would go dmax as well or else vertex!
Ye can see wat ur goin for. Will look savage dude. keep it up
Cheers lads! Have a few tricks up my sleeve for that sharp front bumper look youre talking about, Its what I'm going for, and something I'm working on, but hopefully I can pull it off in the end :)
Great project, in my eyes its almost spot on the way it is without the wing. Then again do whatever you want
Nice work fella .. good job on tubs !! When ya planing having done ??
Hope no over spray got on my car now..... hahaha Nah its looking good though man, get it done!!
any room in that garage for one more?
Couple days off work and I'm knuckling in to this, the interior was fully stripped before and Ive put everything back together again, painted the carpet so it looks like new, dropped in some cusco rear coilovers, nice rear tein strut brace, a B pillar roof brace and FINALLY managed to source myself a 326 power wing. Resprayed the boot floor a gloss black and done a nice wire tidy in the back.
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psucsx0d1g.jpg
Tub of Black Velvet, actual carpet paint, it made some noticeable difference.
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5zvsfwwg.jpg
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psr3gkdlpv.jpg
Resprayed the brace gold and threw in the boss kit and temporary OMP steering wheel
(And no, that isn't a screwdriver in the ignition, its some crazy little SnapOn screwdriver handle/key, came with the car, pretty funky haha)
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6te6yzvk.jpg
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psx3gpjryk.jpg
Got me some cusco rears

Pretty happy with the 326 choice, looks a lot better lowered but gotta sort out the tracking a little better and run some slight camber and play with tyre size and stretch to keep the wheels under the arch. Hopefully this time tomorrow ill be pulling filler and dust out of my hair and I'll have the engine bay prepped.
So yeah.... Really got the finger out and knuckled into the engine bay prep and heres the results...
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psnepopiug.jpg
Re sealed everything that needed resealing in the bay

http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psiueykh2x.jpg
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...psclhmczdf.jpg
As we kept the welds to the outside of the engine bay as not to be seen, there was obviously the smallest of little grooves/knotches in the tubs that bugged me, very small, can only see up very close, so I gave each side a lick of filler and a nice sand down...
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...pskbreleqt.jpg
http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/...pseoylj05h.jpg
Then primerrrrrrrr timeeee.........

Looks great
