God no fella, the painter is going to the Nurburgring tomorrow for a week so that rules out japfest for sure. Probably be more towards the end of the month tbh.
For the most part I'm done now with the car, back bumper is primed, corner pieces from the spoiler are primed up, over fenders have been refitted to make sure they look right. So she is sitting pretty waiting to go to the panel beater tonight. The car will get a full shot of debeers 2pac primer and then block it all down before paint...

I'll have my garage back and be able to give it a good clean now, happy days :) Next up, the new project before the RX8 comes back...
Fair play to ya!!! Where do ya get the energy and time to keep churning out all these cool cars?!?!?
Generally finished in work by 4pm, home and fed by 5.30, watch Top Gear on dave till 6pm and out to the car then, wrap up about 9pm to meet herself when she finishes work, walk the dogs, cuppa and off to bed. Nice simple routine for the weekdays :D
There won't be many updates on this for a few weeks unless I get cracking on the Dori's but I've other jobs to do on my own cars at the minute so I dunno.
She should be back from paint by the end of the month so it'll be nice to see the end result :)
what wheals are goin on her?
These fella, flipped the centre's so just have to refurb the dish and repaint the centre's.

will look rally cool when done, good job!
Looks deadly, well done.
The only thing putting me off is that the seats look massive or something
Guess there is no point asking you would you sell the Doris?
Cheers Seanie, looking forward to seeing the bodywork done now in fairness so we can move onto the next stage, under the bonnet :)
Thanks mate.
Ya the seats are big in it alright but budget was a thing so he just wanted to upgrade from cloth plus they are wired for adjustment and heat now so he happy out, if funds were there it'd be Brides or Recaro's :)
No I seriously doubt it, he gave big money for them and the fact that they have the centre caps makes them worth even more...
cool little project ur at there mate..keep up the good work
Very very nice man, cant wait to see how the wheels turn out!
Cool project. Will look deadly when it's done
Coming along nicely now...

Split the wheels to drop the centre's out for paint (TVR Purple) got a look at the challenge ahead. Due to flipping the centre's for more dish the inner linner is cast and has alot of pits in it so bring up a good finish will be hard enough :

The car should be ready either this weekend or next so finished pic's soon :)
Right so I haven't had much to do with this recently and I was reluctant to start on the wheels having given one a quick attack while I had the car. Anyways they needed to be done so I used a mix of compounds that I think has given the best results. the problem with reversing the dish is that the inner dish is of a lower grade material that the outer dish. When you sand the dimpled surface away your left with pits in the metal, kind of like stone chips on paintwork so to cut past that level of imperfection you really have to dig into the metal, the hardest part of this refurb is getting past all the imperfections in rge metal itself first. I have 3 wheels done however I am only half way throught the 4th, once they are all cut back I'll begin the preparation sanding for polishing however to get to this level was with a 60 grade !

Respect love those little thing dropped nd stanced. Any plans for a hard top they look well then
Brendan you truly do have the patience of a saint! SICK work as per! must show this to my mate over here with an mx5, he will be loving it!
He has a hard top but I dunno if he is going to fit it...
Cheers Shane, that or the brain died off a long time ago allowing me to do this for hours on end :)
So after machine sanding the cast metal back to within an inch of its linfe with a 60 grit head I took it up to 120 > 240 > 400 > 600 > 800 > 1200 > 1500 and then finally fingerprintless gave it a polish with a mix of compound and peek...
Cast Wheels = Never Again (Well who knows if I get bored :))

Next week the centre's will be soda blasted and painted a lovely fresh colour
Where are you getting the soda blasting done? Need a crossmenber done and powder coated in the next week
Beauty job.
thats unreal Brendan!! defanatly have alot of paitence, i hope that he is painting them centers gunmetal gray or something similar, first glimpse i took at that picture of the centers i thought that is what you had done and i think it would look class. but im sure it will look good regardless what you do with them!!
A lad that used to work in Dell with me, has a warehouse in Raheen dude, its 25 a wheel to do so if ya wanna bunk it the cross member with the centre's you might get a proper rate...
P.S. I told your ass I'd bring them around !;)
Cheers dude :)
That Ali, he wants the TVR Purple I picked out for Meisters on Denis's Grey RX7 that is featured on Juicebox :) Gonna look sick ! Lovin the S15 by the way, wheels make her, would paint the centre's but thats me :)
well that a good alternative, still kicking myself i didnt buy them meisters when they where for sale but i couldnt bring myself to spend that much but they would defanatly have been worth it!! cheers man what colour you reckon? all criticism on them is welcome, was considering a bit of a change up anyway haha
Ah no worries dude, they found a home on the RX8 / RX7 LoL U see the pic of them on the S15 that I did arches on ? You would have cried fitting them.
For your bus, I love candy red against the white, failing that the flip paint purple that is available on the R34 GTR's is nuts :)
lol no didnt see any pics of them on a s15? they are pritty much the same spec as my rears now 10.5-0 think they are 10.5-6 but as it is that extra 6mm would piss me off lol im trying my hardest to get them a bit smaller, shorten rlca's or something to pull them in a bit it looks broken with all the camber lol, overfenders are the only way now, was considering a darker gray or could go for a purple, but thats much later yet but ill keep red in the mix aswell
Check out this album on TC dude :

Could you machine a few mill off the hubs ?
Oh your red ones i ment the purple ones, thats what i wanted to buy when you where selling them for your mate, they look a bit mexifush your red ones on the s15 haha, Na looked into that there isnt enough material between the shoulder to hold the wheel nut so if i milled a bit off the wheel id have nothing to hold the wheelnuts, so thats ruled out, gonna try and get adjustable lcas and pull in the track width a lil.
Looking forward to seeing what you do next anyways ;)
Sneak peek of the centre's painted ?
http://i628.photobucket.com/albums/u...20MX5/0140.jpg
Get the arse in gear lad get it done for christmas :) tow hook aswell?
what will you use to keep the shine on the dish or are you just going to autosol it once a month????
