really cool spot! car looks to be going well for ya
It's going alright, still getting very hot, fuse went in the electric fan so didn't get to see if it will help or not, creeps up into the red when the car is parked and idling after getting a few hard runs, but drive it handy for a bit and it starts cooling then
just after spending an hour at getting it bled properly this time hopefully, jacked her a way up on the passenger side so the fill and bleeder was at the highest point and a good bit of air came out of it so hopefully that's what the problem is.
I'll look into drilling too, tks, hadn,t heard of that
I've a spare water washer container and pump so was gonna install them and have a light spray of water going against the rad, would that be any addition?
95% sure fucking head gasket is gone, went out this evening, ran the car for bout twenty minutes to half hour at 2000 revs, whole system got pressurised, heat shot up to 3/4 mark, turned car off and you could hear the pressure hissing out of the rad and it was bulging! Also white smoke from exhaust...SHIT!
anybody want my place in tynagh on Sunday, pm me
anyone any recommendations on a replacement engine?
Best place to look?
Would it be much of a job to fit an m3 engine if I got my hands on one?
would I need the m3 gear box aswell or would the 328 one fit?
as far as i know the m3 and 328i share the same zf gearbox
Finally I got an engine :D
Not only did I get an engine, I also picked up M50 manifold, BBTD, e30 flywheel, clutch and starter

boot floor was just over a kilo, lot of weight in the doors, door glass and back window glass.
all that wiring + alarm system weighed well over a kilo, nearly two.
gonna remove the exhaust standard back box (weighs a tonne!) and just have straight pipes all the way through, it'll be loud but sur f**k it!

M3 front bumper bought, and also twin cherry bomb exhaust also on the way. digital temp gauge also to be fitted.
Going for its engine swap at the weekend, hopefully.
Anyone any links to reasonbly priced upgraded engine mounts or should I bother upgrading them?
Anything else I should do when the engine is out?
Engine mounts will be fine until they fail. The 328 engine is pretty light.
Did you get the flywheel and bumper?
Bit of progress today, old engine removed and bits transferred to new engine.
Fitted the M20 flywheel, clutch and starter and gearbox onto the new engine.
All ready to go back in monday and fit the M50 manifold and BBTB.
Also got a 4.1 diff and exhausts came friday.
Also got polycarbonate finished, turned out OK, could be better :p
