So a little Dilemma.. i purchased This gen bride material because i was going to re-trim the centres on my lowmax's as the graduation was wearing off on me... its a little busy if you get me, but now when im weighing them up the graduation is growing on me again... i can get graduation material also, what do people reckon?
stay graduation? or go for the Black centers...
the seats. as they are with the Graduation Material

Bride Black Material
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1016.jpg
horrible picture but you get the idea.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1024.jpg
this is what it should look like :)

http://images50.fotki.com/v399/photo...868/059-vi.jpg
if i go for the black, i will be retriming
~the Fabric on the door cards
~Lowmax seat cushions
~then fabric dye the rear seats black, and retrim the centers of the back seats with the Bride materaial also.
but it is a tough one, Graduation material or black material :/ i need opions on this one...
Id go black would look way cleaner
I think your right, have my cousin to retrim them so will be nice and cheap too :)
also confirmation i have these on the way 3.5 inch lips :P should look good on the FRONTS!
http://imageshack.us/a/img441/9059/005cnq.jpg
a extra 1.5 inches so im hoping 30mm overs and camber with a nice strech will look mint :)
and nearly have the Rears sorted also
4.5's :P
how do you get the new barrels? cost much? ive a set of equips i wouldnt mind getting moredish on
Struck gold and found a guy who was stripping his wheels and replacing them by putting on 6" lips so gave me these :)
best i found was a company in germany who make barrels,
Two 3.5" lips delivered to Ireland is working out at E470.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1031.jpg
:afro:
will go back over it again as there are a few rough places where i missed with the higher grades. but TBH it beats paying E500 for second hand scratched lights ;)
now onto the interior :)
fuckn hell the amount of times i used thinners and that never happend! strange wan
same happened me before on an integra with the cracks in the lamps, the joys of plastic headlights!
nice job bringing them back though! took alot of sanding and patience i imagine!
To say it was a stomach wrenching moment when it happened would be a understatement, those s15 lights aint cheap, found out it was N20 thinners, think its different to regular thinners
so started today at the door cards,
First take one s15 door card (pool table optional)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1034.jpg
Carefully ripped off the fabric,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1035.jpg
spend hours rubbing off every last piece of foam so the adhesive has something solid to stick to. and mask off the edge.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1036.jpg
apply the adhesive to both the door and the fabric.
as soon as they touch that's it so you better have it lined up right the first time.
then carfully trim the extra off
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1037.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1038.jpg
one down one to go,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1040.jpg
:afro:
has anyone ever used fabric dye before? looking into it for the back seats but cant find anything,
i want something proper that wont rub off onto peoples clothes,
my old gear gaitor looked like a dog got at it at some stage, was torn allover, so with with the leftovers of the doorcards i thought id try and muster something up,
looks like i would just have enough
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1041.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1042.jpg
Didnt take long, but i put alot of effort into it and it paid off, red stiched to match the seats and wheel, its not just bride material sown up in a cone shape like iv seen other people do ;)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1043.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1045.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1044.jpg
looks good! what ya doin with the yashio factory one?? pm me if ya wanna sell :)
Sorted the loom in the drivers wheel well Today, was always cautious of it, so i always had that extra 2 inches i could have gone lower but didn't for fear of chewing it up, so i said id tie it up so i wouldn't have to worry about it again,
this is what it looked like it was actually resting on the plastic shield,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1049.jpg
got to it just in time
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1050.jpg
pulled it out as much as i could to see what i had to play with
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1051.jpg
cut a notch out so the loom would run along the lip
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1052.jpg
then treated and fiberglassed around the cut metal so it was in no danger of sharp edges cutting into the loom,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1053.jpg
undersealed everything while i was at it
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1054.jpg
and tied it up with the largest zip tyes i could find :p
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1055.jpg
thats how it should have been done from the factory Nissan :)
where i had cut the notch sits nice :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1056.jpg
had to run the bonnet cable under the lip as there wasnt enough slack to bring it over,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1057.jpg
throwing on the wing i found out i had over done it  the wing wouldn't go back on ... so had to adjust the loom again until it would stop fowling the wing,
still its out of harms way so i gained a good bit of extra clearance.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1059.jpg
Dropped the seats in to be retrimmed in the new Bride material Today so ill be waiting 2 weeks :p
then my new lips arrived this morning :o
wasted no time stripping two old wheels and sticking them on :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1071.jpg
turns out my old wheels where 18x9 not 18x9.5 so overall width are 18x10.5 now not too crazy up front ;)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1072.jpg
old vs new
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1073.jpg
test fit :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1075.jpg
going to be looking for 5" or 5.5" inner barrels so ill be able to run more camber if needs be
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1079.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1083.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1076.jpg
have 30mm front overs ordered but i think ill be putting them up for sale as soon as they arrive as i will unfortunately be needing 50 mm,
was hoping to stay with only 30mm overs front and rear as i dont like the look of the 50mm overs they bulge too much and ruin the whole look of the car,
so over the next few days im going to have to decide to stick with the plan and run with the comming 4" lips for the rear, or put these on the rears and just run 3" lips up front, and squeeze them under 30mm's
anyone interested in 4" lips if i decide to do that? let me know
First off got Genuine Ganador Mirrors :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1089.jpg
spryed them up and stuck them on :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1090.jpg
Delighted with them,
then Coulour choice on the wheels where wrecking my head, was going to go with gold or Bronze centers, but thinking that they may cheapen the look of the car i played it safe and went silver,
first dark silver
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1106.jpg
but was unhappy so back to halfords again for another shade of silver
and shating,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1137.jpg
very happy :)
then polished my bolts, left them on coke for 2 days,
broke down alot of gunk off them,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1135.jpg
then wire brushed them,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1134.jpg
then polished the Feckers right up
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1136.jpg
4 hours for 80 bolts :/
so puting these two back together tomorrow and onto the next two, i will be happy to see the back of these wheels, pain in the ass :)
You have a lot more patience than me my friend!! Craicing job on this though
Yes Coca Cola, broke down the Locktight on the threads and everything dose a great job iv herd people using Vineger aswell so when i split the other two wheels ill leave them sitting in Vinegar for a few days and see if its anybetter than coke.
Ha just have alot of free time i cant work ATM in and out of hospital so when ever im bored i just go outside and crack on with this for a few hours :)
Well i can say that coke is heaps better than vinegar, seemed to have a much harder time cleaning the bolts after the vinegar than the coke,
so got some bushed fully adjusttable arms :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1171.jpg
and theyll see me rolling and they will be hating ;)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1174.jpg
even tho i will 100% be using rear over-fenders, i still want to leave the arches in good nick that if i ever decide to take them off i can go back and run with a rolled arch :) so hoping i can get the arches looking like this and leaving it tight to 30mm overs,
http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...6/IMG_3468.jpg
i wont be able to get the turn down in the flare, but ill leave it in a way that i will be able to later on if i want.
also loved the shape of the vents on the Wings i bought, so incase i cant find wings with similar vents i made a quick FGR copy ;)
rub some tin foil on the wing
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1162.jpg
start laying some fibreglass onto the foil
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1163.jpg
couple of layers to give it some strength
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1164.jpg
the let it set and pull it off :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...IMAG1165-1.jpg
its rough so if i need it ill obvyousley build up the layers, slap on some filler and smoth her up :)
might not use or need it but its practise incase i ever need to do something similar:P
Just sorted these out about 5 min ago :)
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ips18x3020.jpg
3" Lips, meaning i have chickened out putting the 10.5 up front and have decided to promote them to the rears, :ghey:
running the 3" up front means i have the little extra bit of comfort and hopefuly ill get the +30mm Front Wings i like and they will fit snug under them :)
Just bought them in the states so hopefuly Next week they will be here :)
also bought a D-max boot lid spoiler aswell :)should be here next week also :) haven't quite decided if i shall fit it or not, but its nice to have if i get the Urge ;)
and I got news my other set of wheels Have finnaly arrive from Japan :) so paid the Balance and getting them posted up Monday, sadly not for the s15, planning on getting a s14a in the next few weeks and they will look awesome on it, Same as what i have already Veilside's 18x11 -30, 18x10 -18
:notworthy:notworthy:smitten:
Cant wait to get stuck into them :P
https://bay002.mail.live.com/att/Get...619&oneredir=1
the pic of your 11j -34 isnt working for me =[
to get the rear arches that flared you will need filler!! as you will kink the quarter and crack the paint with that much of a pull!
i wanna see the new wheels for the s14 !!!!!
great work!! will be keeping an eye on this:)
beautiful car lad, love the wheels..
You wasted your time cleaning them bolts!
I had the same problem as you and cleaned a few bolts but was unhappy so ordered new ones, the ones I cleaned were as bad a few weeks later.
Maybe try a clear paint on the bolts to protect them
hmm, i have metal polish on them, i thought a quick wipe with a cloth with some on it once a month will keep them in shape, seen alot of info on Wheel-whores that that will be enough but if thats the case i could probably order some now before i put them all back together?
I was in the same boat as yourself, cleaned them with Coke then Jizzer then started with a wire brush! Done a few to see how they would out but was got talking to a lad who refurbs wheels and told me I was wasting my time unless I painted them after....
I had 30 bolts per wheel and 6 wheels so wasn't to keen on cleaning them anyway!
Took a pic the last day for ya
(New one, Cleaned and wire brushed old one, old one)
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...E672040719.jpg
Humm cheers for that man, i got impatient on deciding what to do so i bolted them up today, if they come through like that in a few weeks again ill be a bit gutted, are yours steel and chrome dipped?
if you bolted them up we want photos ...........
just bolted them together gav, not on the Car yet if that's what ya mean
Didnt take alot of photos through the process because it was a mad dash but
Masked up either side of the Vally so ill get a nice straight finish,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1207.jpg
then Flat to the mat laying beads of silicone torquing up bolts, laying another bead to fill the vally, get rid of all the Air pockets in the silicone before it cures, then rip off the masking tape and you get this,
have them inside nice and warm while the Silicone sets,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1213.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1211.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1212.jpg
befor i did that i Was wondering what the offsets where so finally figured out how to measure them and came up with this,
11" overall edge to edge,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1197.jpg
150 From one edge to Hub face,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1198.jpg
150 From center face to the outer edge,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1200.jpg
Bead to bead 10.5, 150-150 = 0
So that works out at a nice 18x10.5 et0
worked out when my 3" lips arrive the fronts will be 18x10 et6
as borris johnson said Very Niceeeee,
If you want that flare you will need to cut the inner tub and roll the inside of the quarter out with lots of heat, then weld a plate back in, sounds drastic but it works.
So passed the NCT and only got 4 F***ING months Test, W@nkers!!
so came home and Put on the adjustable arms and coilovers and went to change
the Exhaust,
then decided i couldnt wait any longer and went at flaring the arches
Part of me wanted to cut the inside of the arch and weld it back after, but i couldn't be arsed doing that TBH as i am going with over-fenders anyway the look of the flare wont matter,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1233.jpg
Heated the paint up and after about a hour it still seems like it just wasnt going to Flare.
so decided to kick it up a notch and got abusive with it and it finally started to come
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1234.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1237.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1238.jpg
kept going until it looked like the Wing was going to cave in,
then mounted the wheel up to see if i got the 30mm
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1242.jpg :afro:
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1244.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/IMAG1245.jpg
not finished need to come further down the wing but gave up for tonight.
Bit of paint flaked but i expected that and its not smooth all the way but im happy with it :)
that is with the Adjustible arms set to the same legnth as the original arms so once the tyre is on the wheel ill dial the arms into place and fingures crossed the tyre tucks the flare,
comming on wel nw . archs look very wel. get tyre's on . seen ya goin up by topaz friday eve looked super on standard wheels haha.
Cheres man, tell me about it bitches be dropping there panties for the oldschool 16" alloys haha. sorry didnt see you, you defiantly where not in your yoke anyhow where you? getting tyres tomorrow or Tuesday fitted by that lad across from into the west on the way to frenchpark, forget his name, he has a bead blaster as i got him to fit the tyres for my golf before and that was some headache LOL
Dont put over fenders on it youll ruin the lines of the car, just camber the wheels in will look 10 times better
i was never a fan of them either but i think 30mm overs look alright 50mm overs look shite tho
ya i think thats him, Who is beside Melvins? didnt know there was anyone in there? christ i must have had the blinkers on i didnt see either of ye, sure im half blind anyway LOL. must do that cheers going to wrap the lip in tape and masking tape so they sont scrape the dish while they are at it
