Sound Niall i appreciate that, ahh i do like trying to make my own things where possible makes it more intresting and learn abit as you go along better than buying everything and bolting it on imo, i do keep all the pics of all the builds on seperate files nice to have to look back on .

Well gathered a few parts there for the 180sx.
I bought a 6 point cage with x bars in the back and sparco corsa fixed seat with sparco rail of bwreilly on here sound chap to deal with very helpfull. I got the seat and rail today and the cage will be arriving tuesday.
Heres a pic of the seat has 2 rips so will neatly stitch them make it look abit better and help further tears, just roughly mounted the seat and got a good position for driving but it will come back out again to be cleaned and stiched.

New hydro handbrake with copper lines and fittings.

nice job man keep it up some great work
-
well decided to throw the hydro in today i spent more time trying to decide where i wanted it to be positioned than it took to fit but im happy with it and is in nice reach/angle for me.
As usual a few pics
I bolted it to the top of the tunnel at a slight angle so it was comfortable to pull the only thing was the tunnel was made from thin metal so there was a small bit of movement so i made a bracket to support the overhang of the hydro and its rock solid now and fairly neat.
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps521b3382.jpg
I reattached the cylinder and ran the copper lines down through the floor with rubber gromets to stop any chafing to where they will meet the rear brake line.

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...psd6504a3e.jpg
This is where the lines came from the floor the left pipe is to the mastercylinder and the right will go to the rear brakes im just going to cut the line and join it to either end of the hydro

Ready for the seat to go back in
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps2969395f.jpg
Seat in and it all fits perfect nothing touching the seat or rails so its spot on.

And last pic from the drivers seat.
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...psda942bd4.jpg
I just have to flare the hydro lines into the brake line from the mastercylinder and to the rear brake lines and bleed it and job done!!!

well havent done much lately been sick last 3 days but did a few bits.
Wired the wipers in to the toggle switch have a slow and fast speed on the switch so should be set for the rainy days.
Thats all of the main wiring done now just the gauges and boost controller are left to fit but thats easy hook up.
I needed to make a new center console to house the boost controller, wiper and light switches, oil pressure and charge light and the main start and ignition toggle board. just made a template out of cardboard and have it traced onto the metal i just dont trust myself with the angle grinder at the moment being sick an all so will do that during the week.
I got the dash doger cage, i have to weld base plates for the rear legs and i mite weld in door bars just so i can bring a passenger out for superdrift/driftfest practice days but id more than likely sell the cage after the first track day and get a full weld in cage after that.
Heres some pics of it just test fitted to see what it was like have to weld the plates yet.

Well installed the center consol today after getting all the switches etc put in last night.
Heres the metal cut out of the cardboard template.
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps2066f91e.jpg
I cut 2 slots in the bottom of the dash so the console will slide into them was easier than cutting around the bottom and tidyer to.
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps6320da2e.jpg
I next taped the console up with masking tape and drew the outline and drilling marks of the switches boost controller etc im missing a few pics but ya get the idea
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps124b7e22.jpg
Heres the consol done with the bits fitted ready to go back into the dash
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...psc4dac4b8.jpg
Next fitted it to the dash and fits well no issues,

Very tasty work as always, where did ya get that rectangular switch panel along the top?
-
The panel came with the car new and unwired, i dunno where it was bought from but its a handy panel to have and not too dear id say but does the job the finest.
Ive the first toggle as ign1 to run power to lights, wipers, windows, boost controller. The second toggle is for the ecu power basically everything powered to run the car, the third switch is for the fuel pump. then just have the push button start onto starter and the cranking signal to ecu. The leds are good and bright on it too so you know whats on or if theres a fault whats not getting power.
I can reach them all good properly seated so happy days. Its only a seat time car for now would love to have the funds to build a full on competition spec car but im not in favour of selling the other cars just yet to fund it.

Well lads have abit of an update, made up the base plates for the cage and welded them to the legs then bolted them to the floor with a plate underneath to sandwich the floor pan bought brand new bolts for the cage and floor plates. Cage is good and strong now and should add rigidity to the car happy with it just needs to be sprayed.
Have the interior fairly sorted now have the electrics all done which includes lights, wipers, windows and toggle panel. Have cage properly installed and bucket seat. hydro is in and working all i have to do now is remove cage paint that and paint the interior and fit harness and its good to go.
I did a compression test when i bought the car and compression was equal along all 4 but small bit on the lower compression fiqures, was told that the timing was played with and mite not be right but anyway i got money of the car so if it wasnt bad timing id cover myself to get it fixed.
Redone the timing and checked my fiqures again and wasnt 100% happy with it so instead of running the car the way it was decided to pull the motor and rebuild it.
I started to strip the engine/box from the car and my god there were loose bolts and bolts/nuts missing so happy i went at it.
Good few pics as normal!
Ready for the teardown

I pulled the box next hadnt a clue what clutch was in it but was guessing it was standard by the feel of it and it was so that will have to be uprated to a paddle clutch.

Pulled the head off and the cylinder liners dont look too bad needs to be checked for wear etc see if its still within specifications etc. going to go with a metal headgasket instead of a standard one.
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps998982e5.jpg
Stripped abit of the head down and layed it out made a board to hold all the shims and guides in the right location by drilling small holes into abit of a timber floor.haha.
