I just cant understand why are they sooooo expensive to buy, This one looks great, I like the way it is done up, but standard ones... Not my cup of tea
Got lots of pics of it at Superdrift the other weekend. I really like this shot by Markos though!!!

Main reason is because the old ones still don't look like they've aged when the new ones are the same apart from a different bonnet on the newest ones and anything thats kinda timeless holds its value well.
More than likely, the last of the 300tdi, later TD5 models and the newer transit engined ones will hold their value even more soon when the new version comes out as its looking like its going to like shite and being built in china doesn't help its case either.
The Crew-cab ones hold their value then too as they can carry 4 or 5 but still have cheap tax.
Ah man I've got the horn back for a defender now man lol :) awesome machine altogether
that's the nicest freelander I have seen  ha ha well wear dude, the long wheel base crew cabs are the only way to go.
You'll just have to get one Deco! ;)
Getting a de-cat down-pipe tomorrow for it as the cat still hasn't seen the bin!
Getting a bigger intercooler then during the week for it so should be up around the 180-200bhp mark then... until I get a bigger turbo ;)
Will be making a stainless tubular exhaust manifold for it too in th next couple of weeks as I'm after warping the standard one with having too much fun with it, lol.
Yea, cool looking freelander alright...:p
Haven't updated this in a while so edited the first post with all the new bits :)
Added a few more suspension and engine bits. With just the lift kit, it wasn't as stable as it could have been so fitted castor correction arms and polybushed it too. Threw a set of HD steering arms on too as originals were abit bent and only a matter of time before they get worse or ball-joints go.
Put another couple of guards on underneath so its completely protected now and no worry grounding out on heavily rutted tracks or rocky river beds :D
Really must sort the stainless manifold soon and maybe fit the VGT as the intercooler and few new bits are wasted with the warped manifold... Plus it sounds terrible with all the squealing an ticking :(
Got rid of the Halfords spec momo steering wheel too and stuck on a Nardi classic.
thats a cool yoke
Rear layshaft and/or main shaft bearings shit themselves on the way to Mondello yesterday so only had 4th gear to get the rest of the way on the motorway from around Cahir to Mondello and back home again
Thanfully, being a torquey bitch of a yoke and the longer gearing of the Disco transfer box (which meant 4th is more like 5th in a standard Defender), it managed the journey just fine with just 4th low for taking off and then into 4th High range to cruise away at 80-100kph
Unfortunately, the clutch shit itself due to the slave cylinder packing up eariler on in the drift car half way through the day then of course but didn't mind that for a 400 euro car that had already got dogs of abuse at the last superdrift with apart from fitting coilovers and a hydro got no servicing or anything between getting it and since it came off the trailer to back up on it for Mondello :D
Just a shame, we didn't have time to get closer to the wall and give it a few rubs before we lost the use of the clutch altogether lol.
So looks like a new gearbox with uprated bearings for the Defender now which is fine and at least another box ticked off on things to do apart from the fact that it was rebuilt before I got it so didn't think I was going to be spending money on that side of things for a while :(
Meant to say to to you dude, whatever you do dont get an ashcroft gearbox, we have seen an awful lot of problems with boxes supplied by them. some customers want them, we wont supply them but will fit if customer insists...
