Would taping over the holes in the bulkhead not do lad??
Also, don't go ripping the car apart unless you really have too.. Just concentrate on the basics, way too many lads get tied up in big builds and thinking they need adjustable everything etc.. My 14 done me grand in PL the last day with only coilovers and a welded diff.. IMO you don't need any extra lock or anything yet, get what you have tracked and working right and get the better of that set up first ;)
+1
I really wouldn't go pulling the entire car apart, get it tracked and with some spacers on the rack and the lock stops ground down you'll have plenty of lock.
Spend the rest of the time fiddling with the turbo and getting it running right, then tidy it up a bit or at least give it a lick of paint as I'm not really diggin the green/two tone/black thing :D
For the likes of the practice days your current setup is enough, just get it set up right
Get it running right and tracked you don't even need to go to wez to get it aligned to race spec or whatever just go with the standard settings and that will save you a few quid starting off.
@darragh green/black theme is where it is at this year ;-)
i was really saddened to come to the last page of this!
looking forward to more updates lad, and i hope she starts going well for ya sharpish!
the above is bang on joe!!!! ur putting way to much taught into all this!!!
the car was running and pulling wel so put on another turbo, a set of good coilovers and get the car set up properly!!!! you don't need nutty mods and at the end of the day every single shell should be treated as "disposable" which means putting massive fab work into a shell at some point it will all go dwn the toilet!!! im not saying that putting massive work into a shell doesn't serve a purpose but one wall and that work means nothing!!
a few bolt on mods and ur car will fly lad!!
Well lads i havnt updated this in a while.
Not alot has been done to this since i had it out last. Iv moved out of my parents house and am now living in sin with my girlfriend in Dublin.
What i did manage to get around to is do the tracking on the front, which turned out to be miles out. We sorted that so i should be able to control the car when im trying to slide it, as not even Dan Moorhead could slide it in portlaoise it was so badly set up.
I was also changing the oil and i noticed a few small bits if metal in the oil. Now the engine isnt knocking and is running grand, it could be nothing or it could be bad. Im gonna drive this till she dies anyway and worry about it then.
I bought the subframe from Mike Fitz's Sileighty as it had solid bushes in it so the rear will be as solid as can be.
Ill update this again when i have some pictures and some decient work done.
Cheers to everyone for the help. Maybe ill enter PD 2012 with it :D
