I kind of just really want to do Prodrift now as I feel its now or never. I'll probably emmigrate soon enough, or atleast going abroad to do a masters. I've wanted and tried to enter some sort of motorsport for a few years now, and Prodrift now seems the most likely for me. The practice days and stuff will probably be hit either way, but I would really like to try and experience the pressure and competition of an event/season if possible.
For amateur level power wise at least I'd say a 200bhp ish mx should be ok. Not ideal of course, but if a 200bhp ish 86 would be ok, then a mx with more torque should be possible too. I'd be confident it would pull third anyway as is so power wise they're actually pretty good. But if I do it in the mx5 then I wouldnt expect to be too competitive anyway, with it being my first year drifting on track etc etc but ya never know. In the states and the UK mx5s with less power have done ok at lower levels so wouldnt say its out of the question, just more down to whether I'm anyway decent or not lol! Not ideal, but not impossible imo.
But over the weekend, in between alot of drinking, I did a good bit of thinking and planning, so things are gonna start moving on this quickly again, for the moment at least. Wishbones ordered, and the compression test should be done this week. So we'll see from there....
