So at this stage i've told a lot of people face to face about my plans for the car. I didn't really mention anything on here until it was all a bit more concrete and the plan was actually in motion. The plan right now is to swap out the 110whp non vvt sr20de for a jdm 2jz-gte twin turbo which i got a few months ago. The plan is to run standard turbos, but up the boost to a safe enough level. I'm looking at running about 350whp (2jz BPU) which would be more than enough for the type of use the car gets. It's still my daily after all.
I'm going to get a wiring loom from thewiringspecialties who do a complete s13 to 2j drop in loom. The plan is to have it looking extremely stock, with working a/c and original s13 clocks (HUD + Digi Dash). Still deciding on where to get it done. I've a huge list of parts that i need still but slowly but surely i'll collect them with a view to having the engine in next summer after my wedding in April.
So if anyone has any 2j bits (at good prices :P) that would suit a road car build, drop me a message.
Another piece of the puzzle. An r154 gearbox with JZ bellhousing. I got this off Darren MacNamara. It's the box out of his 240sx drift car, the one Matt Powers drove at IDC rd3. Kinda cool :)

I must get it opened up and checked out by someone before the conversion takes place. Engine and Box out of the way, next step is getting that loom and a good clutch/flywheel combo.
I will retract my original statement and now definitely like the way your going with this.

hahahaha thanks man :p Was originally gonna be a 1J conversion but I couldn't resist that extra J... I will need to change the wheels when I do though, as 8jj just won't put the power down, but they do me fine right now with my limited power. I'm also thinking that I want to set the car up for proper handling, so the low pokey look might suffer slightly as a result. The car looks awesome right now but handles shite through fast corners when not sliding.
Also forgot to mention that i tracked down an r180 diff with 6bolt half shafts and 4bolt backing plate. Lovely tight diff so i'm happy out. The non turbo s bodies have r180 diffs as opposed to r200 which can be found on the turbos. It was out of an s14 so i had to get s14 diff bushes and s14 diff bolts too.
I've gotten a bit obsessed with ps13s too over the last few months. I'm buying up a load of oem body panels, lights, etc. noticing that interior parts are difficult to find if not shared with the 200sx/180sx.
I love this car but i really dont like the idea of the jz motor in it :( i love the stock looks or even the 90s look and there isnt enough cars like this one at the minute. If your going sorting out your 180sx to get it back on the road/track and since its a little bit beating up would you not take the engine out of the 180 and put it in the ps13 or even ibts on your original engine??? And put the jz motor in the 180sx with the kit thats on it with wider wheels?? would it not make more sense since the ps13 is going to be a daily car for you ?? but i guess there your cars but im gonna leave these hears for you keep you the good work :)

I thought about it but made decisions based on a load of factors. Firstly decided against itbs because it's the non-vvt sr20de, and itb builds can be stupid expensive with very little in return. Research showed that it would cost 2.5-3k just to get 200bhp out of the engine. Cool and different, but not for me, I want that turbo flutter and jz sound.
Secondly, I don't want to take the engine out of the 180. It has 60k on the clock from new and if you inspect the car you'll quickly see that despite getting a bit of track time, the 180 is in awesome condition. I'll be selling the 180 as a fully road legal NCT'd car, and changing the engine would add no value to that sale.
As for 90's styling, don't worry :) Cosmetically the car isn't going to change much other than a respray in the same colour.
Put the front off the 180sx onto it. Onevias FTW!! Who's gonna fit the engine for ya?
Front swap deffo aint gonna happen... with respect to sil80s and onevias, the s13 silvia front belongs on the s13 silvia and the rps13 front belongs on the hatch.
Unsure who is going to do it for me to be honest. I need someone who is confident, competent, communicates well and who i'm sure wont let me down or keep me waiting. Not looking for a cheap job and don't want to have to go back every week because of new problems popping up... Recommendations are welcome...
