My Zenki S14 Overhaul
Been meaning to do one of these for awhile, actually meant to start it while i was doing the project but seen as its nearly finished i might aswel start it now
Bought the car with the intention of changing the turbo as it was blown and then drive the car and learn the rwd drifting craic, but that hasn't happened yet. I have the car nearly 11 months i think and its turned into a massive project but i find it hard to leave things alone
I have done most of the work myself and am by no means a mechanic or painter but il give anything a go, so if I've done anything the wrong way i only have inexperience to blame
heres the car when i bought it

as you can see it needed some bodywork taken care of
i stripped it back to get a good look at the car

seemed like a decent base, no signs of repairs or rust, the plan was to go overfenders, wide wheels, lows and some power
i set about marking up the rear arches for the first cut,

then cut the first skin off

didn't go too bad, never took pictures of it all welded together and sealed but its all done and plenty of room for the wheels

this build thread probably won't be in any proper order, I'm just trying to dig through the photos i have of it
got some 5 stud hubs and got them cleaned and painted
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps863ad1ac.jpg
then starting spending money with driftbits/stevo
got some kaber arms for setting up the suspension
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...psd0246759.jpg
and got an apexi twin exhaust, it seen better days but i sorted that out
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps283f0a9c.jpg
to this
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps7cccb44e.jpg
also dropped the subframe and petrol tank
dropped the subframe to change out the bushings, got some partshopmax solid subframe risers, the raise the frame closer to the body to account for lowering the car and to relieve the angle of driveshafts and suspension arms when lowered
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps1b87925d.jpg
dropped the tank so i could change the 20 year old fuel lines

Looks like a great base, please get rid of the black stripe down the centre.

cleared out the shed to get the car in primer, tackled it myself to save some money, took me weeks/months to get the car to this stage, spending weekends in the shed blocking the car down to get it nice and straight and fixing any minor dents it had
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps3995caa8.jpg
went fairly well and the started to block out the primer
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps4d27d0c2.jpg
then put it back together and test fitted the wheels
