Rb20 turbo question
So I recently got myself a r32 skyline rb20, and the turbo went which is ball bearing I believe, can bearing cartridges be got new for them, or what's a good alternative, do the rb25 turbos take more abuse than the rb20 one, want a turbo that will hold up to around 0.9 bar boost
Thanks Philip

Just buy a rb25 turbo will be grand at .9
Neither turbos are ball bearing turbos

As sed get an rb turbo, the originals arnt bb there ceramic blades, an there shit! Get an rb25 turbo. If u can find an r34 neo turbo it be best as there steel internals not ceramic!!
-
Thanks lads, will the r34 neo turbo fit straight on,
-
Yea, get new gaskets an u might need the top j pipe that comes off turbo onto intercooler pipe , careful taking manifold off the studs always snap in the head, I'd say if the manifold to head gasket isn't blowing , don't bother removing manifold atall
-
Cool thanks, have turbo off left manifold on it, yea gona get new gaskets, just out of interest can the bearings be got for turbos anywhere new ??
-
Sorry for the hijack but....
An r34 neo turbo bolts straight onto an rb20 mani??? Sweet! Might work out as a cheaper upgrade than going for a hybrid rb25 turbo :-D Sound!
-
If u can find one cheap. They usually make good money , yea u cab buy rebuilt kits, on eBay

Neo turbo's are not steel and will blow just as quick as S1 and S2-
Steel Core hybrid are approx 350-450 any of your polish friends should be able to get one done for that, wasting money on a stock RB turbo
