Carbon Fiber
I see in a good few rally cars carbon fiber tape on the top of the "x-bar" part of the rollcage. Its to stop the bars getting scratched and keep them tidy.
Anyone know what im on about or know where id get it?
It must be strong enough stuff id say....
-
ya thats what they put that there for
im going to pop two strips on my ones as there getting marked as it is
and only done a couple of days out in it
-
no idea what you mean with the cage, but i've seen carbon fiber tape before but usually it's not actually adheisive.
it's just narrow lengths of carbon fiber.

your best bet is a bike accseory shop frank can get rolls of it 20"x40" its around 50quid though i used to have it for doing bits on bikes when i was racing
-
And would that be adhesive stuff Gem?
U should see it on the good escorts, looks very tidy...
-
ye thats the stuff frank its about 1mm thick
-
Sounds light.... Sure ill have a look out for it.
Its not exactly gonna stop the car of going :p
-
Could you explain a bit more? im kinda confussed as what your talking about the ''X bar'' & scratching ??
-
He's talking about the door bars...
Literally carbon look tape thats put on the up facing side of the bar and looks dead cool but also serves a purpose.. See it on all decent rally cars etc..
Edit, im sure any decent motorsport shop supplies this stuff..

ace imaging in the uk were doing a group buy on carbon effect wrap a while ago on the sxoc, might be worth checking to see if its still going
