My 14a - I think I'm looking for a change

Hey everyone,

I have the 14a since June. Lately I've been thinking that I might want to change. I don't have anything specific that I am looking for, just want to see what is out there....

Over the last 4 months I've put over €4,000 in performance parts onto her, that is on top of what was already installed.

I was in an accident recently on the motorway which caused some damage (cosmetic). Being honest the car could have done with a respray a long time ago, what it needs to get it perfect is a bonnet, a bumper and a respray as paint is fading/laquer is peeling.

Car is an original Irish 14a, blood red.

*I know there is more that I have forgotten but I think that covers all the big upgrades at least.


I just got the car back from mapping very recently. It's unbelievable to drive. I decided to keep the map very safe as it is my daily driver and I'm not overly concerned about chasing HP/ftlb figures.. I got it mapped @ 1.2bar with a T518z so there is plenty of room for upping the boost.

As it stands the power delivery is very linear, I'd say it wouldn't have much more then 300hp but it just feels perfect in how it's put down. If required, the boost could go up another .2/3 bar and then things would be completely different but like I said, I'm not to pushed as it gets me to/from work everyday and it has MORE then enough power for the odd B/C road run :wink:

Like I have mentioned, cosmetically she is not in great condition - There is no rust or anything like that but it will require paint & bodywork to get the body condition up to the standard of the engines condition.. Pics always seem to look better then she does in person so please don't go by them.

I am in no way certain that I want to get rid of her, I LOVE driving the car. It literally makes me happy every time I sit inside.... The ONLY reason I am even considering swapping is due to the body/paintwork. I can't stomach spending money on sorting appearance when there is so much that can be bought for performance. I know that sounds bad but I'd much prefer an immaculite body and then work on the engine rather then the other way around (ie what I've done with this car).

Might swap/PX this for the right jeep if anyone has anything worthwhile lying around.

How much are you looking for it?

Hey, I'm not looking to sell the car. Over the last 4 months alone I've spent over 4k in performance parts, combined with the purchase price a couple of months beforehand it's just not worth my while letting it go in a cash sale.

I'm open to offers on all different types of cars, jeeps, vans etc but it will have to be of equal/similar value. If not, I'm also open to PX deals but it would need to be something I'm interested in.

Change of plan. I want this sold now, have something else in mind.

Price is 4k. I've spent that in parts over the last 4 months. If I was to break it I'd make much more back but I simply don't have the time or space.

Is that price about right or where will I realistically be looking? If I'm far off I will have to keep it as it's already soul destroying knowing how much has been spent on her in relation to what I'll get back.

I'm still open to a PX deal with cash either way. Let me know what you have.

I've found the exact car I want to replace this with, I'm dropping the price to €3,400 cash UNTIL this weekend. If it's not gone by the end of the week price will be going back up.

In parts alone this car could get ~6k. That's nearly double what I'm asking for it :huh:

While there are some issues with the car as it stands, all are cosmetic. Mechanically she is perfect, while she could prob do with getting the map tweaked slightly (sometimes drops off if you compress the clutch while on bost in 2nd) there is nothing stopping it from being a 400bhp car. All that needs to happen is the boost needs to be raised slightly.

It's on Donedeal but I can't stomach getting offered another poxy Glanza or Type R rep so I think I'll be marking the add as sold fairly soon.

Anyone have a phone number for boost-addict???
